I'm thinking the same. I think the stitches from the muscles is causing autoimune. I have to redo and I will ask to remove it.

Hi and thank you for your help. That is amazing I'm so happy that you are regaining your waist! I suffer from bloating due to ibs and I'm skinny so just like you I can wake up with just my loose belly skin that is mostly stretched out due to bloating and then later eat or not and still fill up with gas that just really is stuck pressuring me. I had to pregnancies and I'm glad I read all this so I won't get a tummy tuck. I was skeptical to doctor answers they don't even understand where the bloating comes from. And truly any GI doctor that agrees with you getting the surgery doesn't understand the discomfort of their patient.

My question to you is if you figure you also have ibs or blame the swelling to air due to the tuck shifting your organ space around? And do you think the body fx procedure at the spa will shrink fat, excess skin, or release the excess gas daily??

How do you think this can help me please? I'm not as concerned about the excess skin and fat assuming I don't have a thyroid problem, as I know they have aesthetic methods but my issue is internal and daily without even having a tuck.

Please advise hope to hear from you soon

I’m 9 yrs post tummy tuck. I have had swelling in my stomach since my surgery. They ran tests etc..and of course the surgeon did nothing to cause it... they found nothing in the tests that would cause this swelling.. I too wish I had never done this! it’s so frustrating to think you are going to have a flat stomach only to constantly fight swelling after any activity. You pay a lot of money for this procedure and there is nothing they can do to make it better..
Looks like a lot women are going through similar problems when I google this.. PS’s should answer to this problem with Tummy tucks, rather than putting back on the patient. I agree with the other post.. I also think it’s scar tissue that doesn’t allow lymphatic system to function properly.

I totally understand smh it’s been a total of 8years and my tummy still swells and get tight … which makes it hard to breathe sometimes… nobody talks about the aftermath of this surgery only the glory. I know I’ve put on weight since so I don’t know it’s that’s that cause but it’s been like this since the beginning. It’s like the water retention has no drainage in

3 years post tummy tuck and I never looked right. My Dr. left my upper abdomen a little more loose than my lower abdomen and now I feel like my stomach is being pushed out from my insides. The minute I eat anything, I bulge out and so uncomfortable. I look deformed and I am worse now than I was before my tummy tuck. I'm miserable and nothing fits right. The waist bands on anything rolls down to my hips. I am short and petite and I look terrible. So unhappy and self conscience. I've never felt this bad about my looks before. I hate it.

How are you feeling now? I’m 3 months post and constantly swollen. In the Ab are and bellow bellow button. I didn’t have this surgery to be bloated 24/7. I also can feel that same ball above my belly button and I don’t know what it is!

I am 3 years post and I have spent the entire time going to different doctors and having different tests done because I am swollen and bloated constantly! The pain you describe about the ball is spit on with mine too. I also can’t lay on my belly, bend back, and have ZERO core strength! I have a pulling sensation on my insides that run down my groin and into my thighs. I developed a permanent “sucking in” and hold my breath when I’m doing things. I can’t breath and feel like I’m squeezed on the insides but protruding and round on the outside. 100% this surgery was the biggest regret I’ve ever made! My quality of life has been drastically cut due to pain, emotional, physical, and mental stress.

I’m so glad to hear that other ladies are experiencing the same things that I have been suffering from for years with no idea why. (Just in case you don’t read to the bottom - simethicone ie GasX or gripe water for that bloated pain works best)
I’m actually 12 years Post tummy tuck - about 4 years after I started to get a hard ‘beer belly’ and have incredibly painful cramps after eating just about anything. I can’t eat large meals at all and really need to watch gassy foods because I inflate literally like a balloon

I have Ceoliacs too, I had a tummy tuck in 2018 and I find as the day wears on my upper tummy expands! Miserable, I think eating probiotic and prebiotics help and drinking water too, I think there just isn’t any room down there for food! Drinking aloe Vera juice helps, our guts just don’t work well. In the winter I am happy to wear my compression suit! Maybe a corset maybe small snacks instead of large anounts
