OMG! I'm almost 1 year post op and I've been having major stomach pains as well. I have both pain, as if the numbing is going away, and stomach aches, like a really bad period or bowel issues.
Also, my upper Abbs are really swollen. I had my Gallbladder removed then 2 months later I ended up with a hernia. So I decided to have some plastic surgery at the same time as my hernia repair. My stomach pain always hurts but sometimes, and more often, the pain is debilitating and all I can do is sleep. What the hell? I'm actually bigger than I was before the surgery. I've been working out and "trying" to watch my diet so? WTF is going on?

This sounds like me! Im 4 years post surgery and my upper tummy swells and hurts all the time too. Night time is the worst and I have given myself anxiety thinking I'm dying and doctors are over looking something also... Big price to pay to look and feel good for 6 months...

Has anyone gotten answers? I'm 2 years post opp and I suffer with the same pain everyday. The pain is above my navel and sweeps to make me look pregnant. I'm only 5'3 110 lb . I shouldn't be experiencing this pain daily. I saw a new surgeon and he believes the muscle is tearing away from the sutures. He thinks he should go in and tighten the muscles back up. I just want all the stitches taken out! I can't live my life this way. In constant pain!

I had a tuck 9-1/2 years ago and have the same issue. All the reports I read say this doesn't exist. From reading all of your posts here, it does exist. How do we get some attention on this issue? It can't be resolved by additional surgeries since many of you have already undertaken that method to no avail. Have there been any responses from professionals to any of the posts?

I had a TT almost 2 years ago. The pain never went away. I have sharp pains near my naval and swelling/bulging in my upper abdomen. I'm having my sutures removed in 3 weeks. I'm in pain everyday and can't do anything physical. If I walk too much my muscles go into spasms. This is horrible and I hope getting the sutures removed will help. I'm 5'3 and 110,lbs. I don't know why the first surgeon would do such extensive work on me since my muscle tissue is so thin. My new surgeon believes I have internal tearing causing irritation and possibly an entrapped nerve. Whatever it is, its painful.

My sister had a tummy tuck done 2 years ago and she has been in severe pain for about a month now. She has been in and out of the ER and no one can figure out what's wrong she saw one doctor and was told that she may have scar tissue from the surgery causing the pain. This morning it's much worse on her left side rather than just the anbdomen. Any suggestions. Headed to the ER again

Thank you all for your stories. I thought I was becoming a hypochondriac. I have been having these feelings for over 10 years. I was a healthy woman that exercised daily and always maintained a healthy weight after having this done it became uncomfortable to do any exercise that required to be flat on my stomach or back. Feels like my skin will tear and my ribs are being pushed out. Bloating weight gain larger upper abdomen. Went for all kinds of tests. All they said was IBS. I never had problems with that all of my life. I just blamed the weight gain on getting older . Now I'm seeing all these people telling my story and I am seeing a pattern. I too had extra skin that no amount of exercise and diet changed. I would gladly exchange my flat stomach to be able to have a normal feeling stomach again.

I am also 7 years post op and have the same swelling and severe pain in the lower right quadrant and a large ballooning above my naval that causes me great pain when touched, the only place I don't have pain is along the incision line where due to nerve damage I feel nothing. If I could go back I would not have had the procedure done.

This is not good!!!  I thought it was only me...now I know it was the surgery!!! I am 9 years after surgery and there are days that I can not breath and my stomach is hard as a rock from the incision line up to the top of my stomach.  I also look like I am pregnant.  My organs inside can't have any room.  I though maybe I was full of scar tissue and it's causing pressure on the organs.

I have no waist and wear only baggy clothes to hid what I look like.  It's like having a hard turtle shell on you.

I am 5 months post op after abdomnioplasty. Last month my upper abdomin started swelling and is at the point now where I am constantly uncomfortable and sore. It doesnt every go down! I have been for an ultrasound and CT scan but nothing came back relating to the swelling. The dr has told me that it is abdominal muscle weakness and I need to build up my muscle. I do pilates every week and constantly do core exercises so am finding this hard to believe. Not sure where to go from here but cant live like this.

I am miserable I had a tt 3 years ago. I feel like I am about to burst. I look ridiculous I feel hideous.  It is uncomfortable to sit, so I lay don as much as possible.  I would much rather have my old belly then this rock hard stomach.  It is difficult to be on long flights or anything that requires sitting to long.  I want my life back, there has to be someone out there who can help.  I do hours of cardio and the visceral fat is not budging.  HELP, I am desperate!
