Urethra is a tube that connects urinary bladder to the outside. Her role is to excrete urine in both sexes and to pass the sperm in male. Male’s urethras are longer that female’s and this makes females more subject to infection of the bladder and the urinary tract. Females urethra is about 1-1.5 inches long and opens in the vulva. Male’s is around 8 inches and opens at the end of penis. Both sexes have at least 2 areas of muscles: internal and external and they allow the contol over urination.

Urethra is a tube which connects bladder to the genitals and furthermore genitals discharge the urine which is one of the ways are body is getting rid of toxic and unwanted things.

Maybe it is easier to say that urethra represents tube which excretes the urine from the bladder and then to outside of the body. This is done with the help of genitals (penis if you are a male and vagina if you are female). The main function of urethra is to expel urine out of our body and we all believe that this is easy function but the truth is that our body puts in a lot of effort to do this properly.

I hope this satisfies your curiosity.
