Are there any people here who have Antisynthetase syndrome and have used methotrexate for the treatment of this? If there are, it is you I am looking for! I really want to know how the medication worked out for you and if there were any significant side effects. I am afraid that it won't do me any good, but I am sure I am wrong... Any way, experiences appreciated!
I am currently diagnosed with ASS and am being treated with prednisone and methotrexate. I am currently taking 20 mg of methotrexate once weekly. My ILD seems to have stabilized and the myositis and arthritis are much better. I am still weak and get tired easily, and my doctor atributes this to the illness. There are side effects to the medication. I get nauseated for several days after I take it. and I do attribute some dizzyness and weakness to it. make sure your doctor knows what he/she is treating and good luck.
I am diagnosed with ASS and am being treated with 60 mg/day prednisone and 2000mg/day mycophenolate mofetil (Cell Cept). My diagnosis was just two months ago and, so far, the prednisone has offered tremendous relief. The plan is to taper off all prednisone in one month and see if I can function on just Cell Cept for the long-term. I am not sure if this will prevent ILD progression, and am also worried about side effects. How has methotrexate worked for you? I wish I had more information to offer.
I took prednisone and cellcept. I was free of PL 12 for 3 years. It is now back.
