Vaginal blood clots and excessive bleeding

I have been having the same exact problem since 2011 but it stopped 2012 , now its back!!! I bled and had HUUGE clots passing through like every few mins soaking through my pads , my clothes i was sooo embarrassed!! I bled for 6months straight non stop and because I lost so much blood I became a chronic anemic became light headed , dizzy , tired , all the time. I dont know what to do now I've been to the doctors , tooks meds and everything!!

I had this same problem just a couple months ago. I was clotting so bad that it got to the point when a clot would come out I would feel I was about to pass out. I went to my gyn-ob & they did test & all the norm for this & they said I was pre-menopausal (I'm only 31, so of course, I was shocked at that). They put me on a birth control pill. I had to take 3 of those pills a day for 3 days. Then after that I started taking 1 pill a day until it was time for the "reminder" pill. My doctor did say that I could skip my period for that month since I had been bleeding for so long (of course I did that, because I wasn't ready for another period). I took the bc pills for a couple months & now I'm back on track. I hope this helps!

I am 24 yrs ord and have been having this promblem of bleeding all the time and large blood clots. I have 4 children 1 natural birth and 3 csection. I have never had a unnormal period till my last csection a year ago in Feburay. I have been all outof wack every since. The realy bad bloodclots just came about 4 days ago. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. It will still be like 3 weeks till the dr can see me.

well this seems to be quite a common thing i have been bleeding for 22 days now and im just so tired of seeing blood EVERYWHERE we hve been trying to conceive yet the bleeding has put a stop to that im grouchy, tired and feeling helpless will this ever end? the doctor gave me some sort of meds saying it will stop the bleeding yet it just made things worse i hate my periods at the best of times but now its getting beyond a joke can ANYONE shed some light on what the hell is going on im also getting the shakes and im a little shivery

 

I had something similar happen to me years ago when I first started my period, I was going through a plus super size tampon AND a depends diaper every half hour and I was bleeding all month long. I got stuck with needles to take blood samples more times than I can honestly remember, it honestly seemed like every time I turn around I was getting blood drawn to find out what was going on. They never could find a reason behind why I was bleeding to death, but that is honestly what it was, I was bleeding to death. I underwent 2 blood transfusion and it did nothing besides make sure I had blood in my body. The options I was presented with were a hysterectomy (at 12 years old) or birth control.  So my mother and I decided to go with the birth control. Unfortunately the pills made me so sick that not only was I still excessively bleeding, I was getting sick to my stomach and could hold anything down. So then I went to the patch, which always fell off. So then I went onto the depo provra shot, which stopped my bleeding altogether, but it made me go from a size 3 pants to a size 13, gained 10 pant sizes. but i have to say that after I came off the Depo shot I haven't had excessive bleeding like that since.In short ALWAYS contact your doctor, they will be able to help you better than the internet. Even if you think it might be something stupid and silly or even embarrassing talk to them, it could be a a simple as take this pill or find out it is something is seriously wrong.  

Hi I have read a and experienced what you all are talking about in this post. I have PCOS and since November (it is now March) I have bled on and off. Since I have PCOS, I thought that since my periods have been irregular, that my body was just making up for all the periods that I have missed. But, when the blood flow got heavier and heavier, it became a concern to me. I went from using regular pads, to soaking through super pads once an hour and clotting huge amounts of blood. I went to a specialist and she told me that my body was producing a lot of estrogen, but not enough progesterone. So she prescribed Aygestin which is a synthetic form of progesterone and I'm happy to say that the bleeding stopped in 3 days. I also have to get an ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound done to see if there is an underlying problem so that is my next step. I also have never been pregnant, but the doctor told me I can still conceive, she just needs to stimulate my ovaries to do so. I hope this helps and I will post again once I have my ultrasounds done. Also with the excessive bleeding, it is very important to take an iron pill so your blood levels can be repleted, unless you are allergic or your doctor recommends otherwise.

In reading the comments, I have same symptoms as many. Heavy bleeding passing clots bigger than a silver dollar , ruining clothes furniture, wearing tampons and pads. I was told that I had endometriosis (so) which also can cause pain when I had intercourse. At any rate the heavy bleeding is called menorrhagia. Birth control can help but only really with the symptoms. They told me it could help with my hormone regulation, which is not a cure, but could help relieve, which is why many who take it still may experience heavy bleeding. I am just sharing because I know how unnerving not knowing what's going on, even some doctor's being stumped (which I also went through for years with ultrasounds, transvagulars, pelvic exams, and faulty diagnosis). This issue can also cause infertility. The only way to try to correct this diagnosis according to the doctor is with an initial surgery to even test to see if you have it which they don't recommend if you are wanting to have children because it can cause scarring. I believe the name is called larascopy being one of the surgeries... While not every woman may have this, it is likely that you may and can ask your doctor about the potential of you having it. i just miscarried and ever snice then i have been bleeding clots and i have been bleeding for 22 days. my dr. gave me meds to stop the bleeding and i didnt help now i worried

Hi i am a 15 yr old female i have been bleeding for a month now this is not the first time this has happened the longest i have bled was 3 months straight. I am currently on birth control but i think my body has become immune to them because they no longer work. I was admitted into the hospital may 21 of last year due to to the lose of too much blood i had to get a blood transfusion. when i first started loosing blood i started to feel dizzy and weak my heart would start pounding and i would be out of breathe in the first step i made. I spent 4 days in the hospital. i was doing good until now the same thing is happening again. I asked some friend and a few of them said their parents went through this and they had to get there uterus removed which means no more babies. i dont want to have any surgery that will prevent me from having kids when i am older. does any one have any advice for what you think could be going on they have tested me for blood disorders but they are not sure what this could be.

Hello Im 36and have had 4 kids. I had my tubed tied about ten years ago and just last few months my periods have been getting very heavy. well this last one is still going on with out end in site. I went to ER because I was passing clots the size of small child hand they told me they believe it a hormone thing and to see an OBGYN asap so I called and explained everything to them and they said they cant see me for a week so its been a week and I go tomorrow if I find out anything I will post. this is so difficult and not right that Dr. cant help us out.
