Good Morning, ever since I started my period at age nine they have not been normal and as I've always been heavy doctors have told me thats what the problem is. My mother always told me it could be hereditary because she herself didn't have normal periods until I was born. Now when I say not normal...I mean that until about a year ago I didn't have a period but every once in awhile. And when I did they were light and quick. I felt blessed...it would take me months to go through a pack of pads. A year ago my husband and I moved in together and started planning our wedding...and sex started happening on a regular basis. When the sex started...my periods started and while heavier than I was used to...I wasn't worried. A couple months ago...things turned dramatically and my periods have gotten so bad I can barely move. I apologize if I get graphic...but standing has gone out the window. If I stand I feel like everything inside me is being ripped out of my vagina...and the bleeding just gets obnoxious. Sitting isn't much better but it makes everything feel more contained...and I'm eating midol like its candy. Life is just becoming unmanagable. I'm going through a pack of pads every couple days...my bathroom is having to be cleaned daily because this period just wont go away. This has been going on so long it just isn't normal and I have no health insurance...so a dr.'s visit isn't in the cards for me. I'm scared on so many levels I don't know what to do...I'm only 27years old...I want children...I haven't even gotten to truely enjoy my marriage yet...oh God what do I do?!

everyone look into a medicatin called lysteda (i think thats how its spelled) its for extreamly heavy menstral bleeding. it worked wonders for me. i have had it all and more. anemia from blood loss, massive massive clots (larger then silver dollar for sure) two pads and a super tampon in a two hour period, every day for three to four weeks. here is what the drs found: i had abnormal cells in my cervix (high potential to turn to cancer), i had the hoop surgery where they burn the cells away, and was put on lysteda. my periods returned to managable ( never small little affairs, but none the less, managable.) please get regular paps and also talk to your dr a out this medication. it was a life changer for me :)
