Four months ago I was diagnosed with a rare type of anemia that affects your blood counts immensely. I have been on treatment for almost 4 months now but before I went into hospital I had excessive blood clots passing through me 3 big handful of clots it was a size of my palm a day and medium sized ones too. Heavy periods definitely require attention quickly if it is affecting you, especially if you're experiencing symptoms like fatigue, increased sleepiness and loss of appetite. It's better to figure it out quicker than later. It may be a form of anemia or a problem with your uterus. I have just left the hospital after staying there for months and even though I'm taking about 4 different pills to stop my period, it doesn't work and I'm worried because my condition is life threatening. I've been passing heaps of clots lately that look like livers and have excruciating pain in my stomach, like huge cramps and paradox isn't helping at all so I'm taking a stronger pill. I'm also talking to a specialist, you should definitely seek advice from a gynecologist like I am because they can definitely help. Don't just take the word from your gp because they can often get things wrong and you know your body best. Hope this helped

I had fibroid tumors and had a Myomectomy, which is a surgical procedure to remove fibroids. Best thing I ever did! That was 7 years ago. Just recently I started having longer and somewhat painful periods with some clotting. As of today, I have been bleeding for 16 days straight and will be calling my gynie on Monday.

Hi,
I've been on Gianvi for about 10 months now (for those who don't know, this birth control is meant to be taken continuously which I have been and I'm not supposed to have a period) For the past two weeks I have been bleeding non-stop. I have bled through ultra tampons (which are the highest you can get) plus a maxi pad at the same time. For the past week have been have clots the size of 50 cent pieces and excruciating cramps. I'm 17 years old and I don't want to go to surgery to fix this problem. Anything help you guys?

It may be a sign of PCOD - polycystic ovary disorder. I had the same prob in my teenage when I used bleed excessively . this happens mainly because of hormonal imbalances in the body and its quite common in these days . when I started bleeding like hell my gynecologist gave me medications to stop the bleeding immediately as I had already lost lot of blood in that particular cycle. The excess bleeding within few hours of medication and the then my gynecologist asked me to get an ultra sound scan which confirmed that I had PCOD . medication for the same was given for 3 months to regulate my cycles and hormones. After that its as normal as ever . maintaing a healthy body weight also matters in these cases. Kindly get experts help for such issues . never ever take self medication.

I am experiencing the same symptoms as you describe the squirting followed by the clots. This has been going on for months. I am going to a new doctor in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, he can get a handle on this. The quality of my life right now sucks.
