Mine sounds a lot like yours I just don't have it around the vag hole but I do have face chin and I also have really long fine white hair around my bottom jaw line as well as the hair that grows down in side the labia and like yours it is really thick and coarse and it causes irritation when I walk I so wish we could find out answers I hate it

My 8 ... yes 8 ... year old daughter is going through this already. She's always complaining of it hurting and itching down there, so when she was taking a bath the other day, I took a quick peek for her... and there were coarse, thick hairs growing out from the inside! Poor thing, I don't know what to do for her, so if anyone comes up with some answers, it sure would be great! I hate to think of her having to deal with this her whole life. I'm hoping they'll soften up for her as she ages, but I doubt they will.

I am 51 and had to have a full hysterectomy when I was 46. I have gone through menopause at this point and have had a horrible time with itchiness. I have come to the conclusion that it's the combination of dryness and the sensitive skin just inside the labia majora being irritated by the sparse hairs present. I have found that petroleum jelly helps quite a bit. It gives enough moisture that the hairs do not irritate the skin and make me itch. I hope this can be helpful to others.

I have PCOS with all the symptoms you said but I get no facial hair. Every woman is different. You probably have PCOS as it is common- 1 in 10 women have it.

Hormone imbalance that 1 in 10 women have that causes irregular or absent periods, thick black wiry hair patches in abnormal places on a woman (such as breasts, back of thighs, happy trail, the butt, on the face, etc, that grows so quickly it needs to be shaved twice daily), weight gain, depression, heavy cramping and bleeding during periods, infertility, etc, but every woman varies.

I’m just going to reply to this comment because it’s the last one. I know this post is really old, but I’m sure that people are still going to end up reading it, because here I am, right?
Anyway, there’s absolutely nothing abnormal about having hairs inside the labia. It makes me sad to think that so many young women here thought that there was something wrong with them when it’s COMPLETELY normal! Everyone has hairs there to varying degrees, and I truly think that anyone who told any of you that they don’t was either lying, or they’ve not actually ever looked closely down there.
I can tell you that I started shaving all of my pubic hair off when I was about 15, and have continued to do so until today when I am 36. You can carefully just shave the inner labia as well to get any errant hairs and it works just fine. I’ve never had an infection from it, nor has it caused more hair to grow.
I guess that I mainly wanted to comment to let any young women who might read this know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you.

Thank god I thought it was only me! I’ve had cysts removed and scraping of the uterus done cause I have a lot of problems in my reproductive systems that is too long to type
To explain. But the last time I had to get one done the nurse went to shave me and she said she never seen a woman with so much hair inside the labia that it wasn’t common. But also, my hormone levels are whacked so that explains why ima werewolf lol. Seriously, the older I get the more my hair spreads wtf. I have to shave my armpit 2-3 times a week because it grows so fast. And it’s such a pain to shave my vagina. The acrobatics I must do in the shower to get the hair inside oof. And the hair is so thick and course down there it’s like barbwire. I’m a pale light brunette, like my leg hair and armpit hairs is soft and dark blonde. But my pubic hair is dark brown almost almost black. Ugh I hate it. Plus it legitimately bothers me if I let it grow or don’t shave because it is inside the labia so it’s constantly pocking my sensitive nerves. Anyone else ever get exhausted of shaving? Cause I do!
