I've had vaginal odor for a year or two now and I have no idea where it's coming from. I'm sure it's not BV because I don't have the grayish, thin discharge. The odor isn't "fishy;" it's more like ammonia. It seems to come from the dried normal discharge in the labia. I do everything normally- wipe front to back, gently dry the area after showering, etc. Has this happened to anyone else?

There are so many different reasons that can cause vaginal odor so it is hard to tell what could cause it in your case. Sometimes, you may notice this smell after your period and that is normal. Also, if you notice that you are dealing with "fishy" odor, you are probably struggling with some bacterial infection. It is normal and often, but that doesn't mean that it should happen. In case if you didn't know, It's called bacterial vaginosis and you should know that you shouldn't have a fishy odor down there. What happens is that the magical vaginal ecosystem is imbalanced. This can happen for so many reasons and I suggest you to visit your gynecologist.
