I’m seriously thinking of having vasectomy. I have wife and two kids and I agreed with my wife that I could do vasectomy just to protect us from unwanted pregnancy, but I wonder now what vasectomy side effects might be. Is it going to affect my sexual life and could it cause prostate cancer one day in the future and some more info for I’m really concerned about vasectomy side effects.

I had the vasectomy 2 years ago, it’s a simple procedure done under local anesthetic and lasted about half an hour. I remember myself recovering fast I got back to work in three days. And still today I am satisfied for the vasectomy was so effective. I remember that it is very important to talk it over with your partner about possible pregnancy within first three months after the vasectomy is performed so there’s need of using contraceptive means within this recovery period, or it may due to surgical failure. I personally haven’t experienced any vasectomy side effects but I remember my doc was talking about some prolonged pain in the affected area which is effectively treatable with mild analgesics and also if you have fever, redness and swallowing that won’t go away go seek some medical advice. In most cases vasectomy won’t cause a sexual problem regarding erectile function or sexual desire and usually it won’t cause premature ejaculation, impotence or painful sexual intercourse. And researches shows that one of the possible vasectomy side effects is possible prostate cancer but in most cases it isn’t so, it is especially related in man with vasectomy whose fathers had prostate cancer.

I've read that younger men usually have an easier time recovering, which makes sense. I've also read that if your job is physically demanding, you need to take more time off. This is VERY important! You want to have someone to drive you home after. You want to make sure to take it easy, ice and support as needed and you may not even need the heavy pain meds some doctors will offer you a prescription for. Have some games or shows to binge watch, maybe, while you are on your duff recovering. If you know other men who are interested you can even make it a group field trip, why not? Always better to have someone going through the same thing who can understand and commiserate. Congratulations on manning up and saving your lady the ongoing headaches and serious health risks that go along with female birth control.

If you are comfortable with it, I'd suggest shaving yourself before, so you have less prep to do at the office once you're there. Even if they have to do a last-minute touch-up, it will be a little simpler.
