I'm also going threw this. Was afraid it might be something more serious because of the pain when eating.
Sounds pretty common... first for me.

Dam jet skis...lol.

I will just wait it out....

Where was the ulcer at. And where was the pain when you swallowed?

For the past few days I have had a cold with problems swallowing, and now I am having a pain in my chest that I can also feel in my back when I swallow. It is mildly painful when I breathe. What could be causing this?

Hi, I have the exact same sensation but on the right side. I am at 11 months and feel like it is getting worse. Have you found out what the cause could be? I have had nearly every test imaginable and no doctor has figured it out. Please respond as I am going insane trying to figure this out.

@Suz4 Any update on this? I have been dealing with this EXACTLY for 11 months now and no answers for me. I am really hoping to find someone to talk to about this to see if they could point me in the right direction. Neuros, Gastros and ENTs do not seem to know what is going on. I know this has been a long time ago but please if you are available reach back out to me.

Hi there hope you are feeling better. Managed to get a diagnosis? I came here as I’ve been experiencing same pain for a week now…it’s definitely mild when swallowing so far and it’s on the upper left of my back and a little down my arm also. Just so odd. I think I damaged the muscle, the trapezoid and (perhaps some deeper muscles also) through repetitive and elongated bad posture as I had the pain on the back before the pain when swallowing started. Been to the physio twice since and I’m taking some muscle relaxers (mostly to keep myself relax cos I’m a panicker!)

No I have not found a diagnosis over a year into this zapping sensation. It is the strangest thing and doctors can't seem to figure it out either. Seems like I have been to them all. Neuros, regular, gastro, ENTs, Chrios...all no answers. I would assume if it is a damaged muscle, it would have been healed now but maybe I damaged a muscle or its just the way I am built and its age or something?? Although I am only 33. I have had Brachial pleus MRI, Cervical MRI, Gallbladder scans, Ultrasounds, Manometry study, Upper GIs and all I have to show for it is increased radiation on my body. It is very very frustrating to say the least. What muscle relaxer are you on and does it seem to help

Hi everybody, sorry for my English. I have been experiencing the same strange feeling/pain in my upper right back. It started when I swallowing liquids in the beginning and then I have feeling it when I swallowing liquids, food, when burping. I went to Gastro - get a gastroscopy (they found GERD - but it was not the reason for the feeling - I started treatment, but nothing), then I get spine scans - nothing. Finally I went to my Neuro. She said I am OK, she can't seem to figure it out either. BUT! She gave me some vitamin B complex, (that contains vitamin B1 in the form of benfotiamine). I started taking it 3 times a day 1 pill and I was getting better. In 4 weeks I was absolutely cured from the then strange and horrible pain/feeling I was dealing 2 months before.
