I’m from Ontario, Canada, and going through this strange flu/cold virus for nearly 2 months. This has never happened to me before. Never had a flu. A cold virus a couple decades ago might have lasted me 3 weeks, maximum. This virus seems to be hanging on, gets better for a day or two, then comes back. It started with extreme fatigue, then fever and chills, severe sore throat, loss of voice, ear infection, uncontrollable hacking cough, green phlegm. I was initially treated with z-pack (azithromycin) for 5 days, was better, then 4 days later the symptoms came back. I’m troubled by constant thick phlegm stuck in my throat (possibly post nasal drip) which I try to spit out. I was given nasal steroid sprays, under the assumption the mucus is due to sinusitis, but it hasn’t helped at all. Even though I tested negative for Strep, and the concensus from doctors is that It’s viral, I tried Amoxicillin for 7 days. It got rid of the white gunk at the back of my throat and improved my sore throat, but it hasn’t reduced the persistent excess mucus in my throat. The worst part about this is that it’s winter outside, and I can’t go out for walks, and what little exercise I get from cleaning the house causes me to be completely short of breath and feverish. I’m in the 7th week of this flu/cold/ persistant virus, and I don’t know how to get rid of it.

It started with a fever five days in a row prior to other symptoms. Then I had severe pain in tenples then it moved and felt like a severe sinus headache. My throat swelled. My breath smelled foul. Then I had stomach pains and vomiting then diarrhea. It smelled like something died. Then I noticed my neck and arm pits swelling and my stomache swelled too. Bacteria does this. From what I studied in pharmaceutical tech school, bacteria is the main thing that causes swelling and foul smells (just like how our food smells bad when it ages-it's bacteria that causes that). All The areas where the lymph nodes are swelled.
Finally seeing improvement signs but I had to eat extremely well, do yoga three-four times a week for 1.5 hours (the twisting poses to help kidneys and restoration poses especially), lots of vitamin c, garlic, turmeric, oregano oil, L-lysine, L-cystine, water water water! This thing likes to attack kidneys. When I urinated it smelled foul and like ammonia. L-or ithine helped with that. My chiropractor did lymphatic massage techniques to get rid of swelling. Guys, I don't think it's a virus because all the things I'm doing fights bacteria and so does an antibiotic. The antibiotics work until you go off them. That's because they only fight bacteria while you take them. I think the bacteria is in the brain somewhere near the temples then filters downwards. I finally lost my bloated belly too. I suffered with intense bloating and gas. Nothing creates that except bacteria. A very resilient one at that. It is easily caught. I got it from someone who had it just by them touching my arm. It took two weeks for me to come down with symptoms.
Good luck!!
