I live in Southern Ontario and I too have had all of these symptoms. It started with flu like symptoms and then I felt better for a week . Then I was hit with what I thought was the stomach flu with a fever. Just as my stomach was feeling better I got an extremely sore throat and flu like symptoms again and also an eye infection. I am a runner and when I go for a run it seems to bring my symptoms back. The worst is the fatigue!

Hi, everyone,

I've had something similar to all of this and it seems the virus is actively going around yet again based on all of the posts here from the last few months!
About 3 weeks ago, my neck felt really stiff and I had a horrible headache. It felt like I had slept on it really wrong. Then the lymph nodes in my abdomen, under my arms, my chest, and the lower sides of my stomach started became sore. I thought they were swollen because I could feel them, but it turns out they barely were. The aches and pains were horrible and all over the body. I went to the doctor and he said the emergency room is full of this weird lymph node virus right now. Most of the time a high fever accompanies it, but thank God I never had a fever at all. The virus works its way through my body, so sometimes it hurts one side of my chest and pain shoots down my arm, then the next day it might be in my ribs and abdomen, then my legs, etc. I feel better than I did the first week but goodness, it won't go away. I've been under A LOT of stress. My mom has been fighting cancer for 2 years and is in the final days of her life... also I have a precancerous dysplasia on my cervix that will be removed soon (not really serious since they caught it before it is anything... Get your yearly paps!!!) but that's just icing on the cake. Dad was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's, grandparents live with us -- one had massive stroke and the other cOngestive heart failure. So when the doctor said that it would run its course and the only thing to do was rest and be stress free, I laughed. Not exactly possible.

I've had IBS symptoms in the last few months but assumed it would be unrelated to the virus since I had no lymph node issues or aches and pains. It sucks and I really hope it doesn't last months. The worst is when the pain is in the chest and the neck muscles, but IB profen and heating pad make it feel better. Also, probiotics have helped with the diarrhea. Slightly swollen glands in the tummy still though. Some days I feel fine and do too much, then it strikes again. I just want tO be healthy again!!!! I haven't been sick in a long time.

I am in Virginia and have had what I thought was 3 separate Virus in a months time.  These posts have helped me.  I have started taking lots of Vitamin C,  and Olive leaf which builds up your immune system. Which I was taking during each of these virus but then would stop when I was feeling better...but I think after reading these posts I will continue even after I start feeling better.

I'm not a doctor, but I do watch a program called Your Health with Richard and Cindy Becker. Often I hear him taking calls from people who live in the norther hemisphere. He says that up north there is less exposure to sun Vitamin D. Deficiency of Vitamin D can cause flu like symptoms in Children and can also cause muscle weakness and fatigue. For your eyes (dry eye can cause eye infection) Taking omega 3, 6 and 9's helps. Also a product called Systane Ultra Eye Lubricant helped me with eye problems and prevented me from having needless tear duct surgery. Also if you have allergies, this can lead to chronic sinusitis which requires antibiotics, but along with that take probiotics. I hope this helps!

I became sick with a viral infection back in April. It started out with a fever and cold type symptoms but went into the worst cough and sore throat I have ever had. I started feeling better but then it got worse again. The main symptoms I have now is the sore throat, slight dry cough, and stuff/runny nose. I keep telling myself it's allergies but I have never gotten completely over this. I was googling about this yesterday and found a site that said there is a viral infection that had the same symptoms I have been fighting, and it said that it takes months to get rid of. I am guessing that has been my problem. It's miserable. Do you have the almost constant sore throat also?

Yes I have been sick since May with the same symptoms. Sore throat that never goes away, swollen lymph nodes initially, dizzy, nauseous and just feel unwell. I eat healthy and all my tests are fine. I've seen three different ent doctors and they have looked in my throat and don't see anything unusual. Gerd was mentioned as a possible reason but there is no sign of acid reflux. Still my dr put me on omeprazole which just makes me feel even more unwell. Would love to hear how long this will last and what could help. I'm worried that I've given the virus to my kids as they too are complaining about sore throats.

Your immune system is weak and can be boosted by taking a vitamin supplement called Immune. I buy it at Roots or whole foods. My daughters warts melted away after I put her on this after 7 yrs of warts we had burned off 8 times. Let me know how you feel after a week of taking this supplement. God bless you. hjhmomatyahoodotcom

I have been having the same symptoms headache, dry nose, stomach ache, diarrhea, no appetite for approximately 4wks. It started with just the headached and each symptom added day by day. I know it isnt the flu because I know exactly how that feels, plus I get the flu shot every year and I dont have a fever. So what is this I have Im wondering??? My stomach is so bloated and constantly hurting along with my head and then i will feel okay for short periods of times. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere...Bamm im out !!!! No energy, its awful! So relieved to read these posts, there are people that actually feel the way I do..... Not that I would wish this feeling on anyone!!!!! Okay...what Im going to try tomorrow is a 3 day detox recommended by Dr. Oz ....I am a fan of his show. It is strictly fruits and vegetables to break down the immune system and rebuild your body allowing a reenergized, replenished feeling....So I will be back to let you know how it goes. If you are interested go online.

I started taking Wellness Formula vitamins (recommended by a friend) and can't say for sertain how effective they are but I haven't gotten sick since. People have really good results from them. You can get them online or at the Vitamin Shoppe. Thye never were able to figure out what I had -- just kept saying a virus. I hope everyone feels better soon!

I have been going through similar thing.  I went to a naturopath a couple of days ago and she gave me some homeopathic drops which you put in 10mls of water, gargle and swallow.  Within 36hrs my scratchy, sore to swallow throat has gone!  If modern medicine can't help - go to a naturopath.

What were in the drops do you know? I have been sick now with a sore throat, nauseous, lightheaded for almost 4 months and I am not getting any better. My Drs said it is a virus as I have been on at least 4 different rounds of antibiotics which has done nothing except nuke my internal good bacteria so now I have candida in addition to the sore throat. I hope everyone out there gets better soon - please reply back if you know what this virus is or have any ideas as to how to get over it.
