I have a history of miscarriage and now I am 18 weeks pregnant. I have lost weight since a few weeks ago, and now I am terribly worried that I am going to have another miscarriage, though my last ultrasound was just fine and all my other losses were early losses, at 6 and 7 weeks pregnant. Is there any indication that weight loss during pregnancy is dangerous?
I am sorry, you must be going through a rough time. Pregnancy after loss can be emotionally draining. I understand that you are worried, but do you have any real reason to suspect that something is not going the way it should with your pregnancy? If you are still suffering from pregnancy sickness, weight loss could be caused by that. Also, some women just lose weight in pregnancy for no apparent reason. I know that, when I am pregnant, I am only ever about 3 kilos heavier than I am when not pregnant. I have two kids and am trying to conceive number 3. Having said all that, if you are really worried, and with a history of miscarriage, you are probably able to request another ultrasound to check everything is still OK, or you could even buy or rent a doppler so you can listen to the baby's heartbeat yourself, to calm any fears.

I am 3 months pregnant, and my colleagues keep telling me that I am losing weight every day, even though none of them are aware that I am pregnant! What can be done to stop this weight loss?
