If anyone knows about these medications and weight gain/loss I'd appreciate a speedy answer:

I am taking Depakote, Seroquel, Lamictal, Wellbutrin, and Zonegran at this time. A couple of weeks ago my Wellbutrin was increased to 300 mg (from 150) and I started Zonegran (new medication for me, 100mg) as of yesterday. The reason for these two changes is that I had gained weight on the Depakote and Seroquel. The Depakote dose for me has been 500mg, and the Seroquel 200mg. I've heard that only so much can be done with exercising and healthy eating, that some people on Seroquel and Depakote don't lose the weight after exercising and healthy eating.

I can no longer fit in my wedding dress (made the mistake of buying the dress a while back even though my wedding's not for a year), and this was the last straw for me that made me request the change in meds. I'm starting out with the Zonegran at 100mg. My psychiatrist is not that familiar with Zonegran dosages so we're learning together (she's a great doctor though).

Does anyone know if it's possible to lose weight on Zonegran and Wellbutrin while still taking Depakote and Seroquel? I'd appreciate the answer soon. Because if it's not possible, I have found someone online who is selling the exact same dress a size up. I'd rather not spend the money on my limited budget if I can lose weight. But if it's not possible to lose the weight then I've got to hurry up and get the dress she's selling.

Thanks so much!!!! :-)
If I were you, I'd play it safe with the dress. You can always take it in if you don't gain the weight but letting it out is typically more difficult. I think Wellbutrin is what causes weight gain. How long were you taking it?

I don't know much about the rest, but I can tell you that I've lost a lot of weight (via diet and exercise) whilst on Wellbutrin 300mg and Strattera 40mg. But I also reached a plateau and I've been stuck here for more than a year.
