Hi I'm sorry you are having this problem but a hernia can be painful and takes time and recovery because the body has a weakness in that area it can be re injured. Depending on the age of the individual it can take longer or it could be fear of re injuring his self . I hurt my back during sex you could hear it popping but I kept going now it gives me trouble sometimes just walking . But of course I'm greedy and try to workout to get back to my old self or just work threw the pain cause I love making love . maybe you can encourage him to start working out with you to strengthen his lower body and upper also. walking , stretching very important , light weight training . I really could benefit both of you sexually .
