First, I am sorry for your frustration. I know how it can be. Second, I don't think anyone can tell you except your partner. I will note you stated "i do trust him...." and then question his fidelity. So, maybe you already know the answer yourself. Third, it depends on the type of infection. Bacteria or yeast? If it is bacteria I have a few things for you to think about. Do you wear thong undies? Are you wiping from back to front? You don't need to answer publically. If it is yeast, you need to examine your diet and get all carbs out including sugar, bread, alcohol, soda, pasta etc. You could have candida overgrowth. So maybe you could think about these things.
