My 16 year old brother has just been diagnosed with scoliosis and he has pain in his back. They told him they cant' find where the pain is coming from but they think he should have surgery. He has a 50 degree curve but he is standed straight up. They said most people are slumped over. He is be built though so it helps him stand up. He can't have a brace because his built is to big and it wouldn't help. My mom and dad are so stressed because they don't know what to do. The doctor told him that at age 40 he will be bent over if he doesn't get the surgery. The risks are so scary! We don't know if it is more important to fix the progression or risks losing him. If anyone can help please do!!
