F*ck suboxone. If your shooting 5 bags of H a day its better to go through detox for about 7 days than 2 months subs. I tookmethadone for 9 years and it took a full year to feel normal. Subs i have taken 5 years tried to quit 1 time only made it to 13 days withdraw got worse. Freinds told me it took a month to feel better and thats on 1/8th of an 2mg strip. Funny how the Dr doesnt tell you how hard it is to detox. Stay in there. Its worth being off pills in the long run. God be with us.

Your post makes me feel like there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I am on day 10 of no Subroxen and like you I have two children and just want off. I have been on the medication for 1 year and 4 months. The last 6 days have been rough. No sleep and stomach issues. I called out of work today and am worried people at work are going to pick up on what's going on. I am reading nightmare stories that it takes months to feel normal again. That scares me. Every night I pray will be a little easier but that hasn;t happened yet. I refuse to go back on. REFUSE! I have gotten this far - I just want to be free of any drugs!

You have no idea what you are talking about. True, the symptoms of suboxone tend to be more mild but you aren't taking halflife into account. Most opiates have a 4-8 hour halflife. This means the withdrawls come on fast and tend to peak after 72 hours. With suboxone you have a 28 hour halflife. This means you might not even get your first real onset of Withdrawl symptoms for 3-4 days and even then it can take a month to get through the physical withdrawls. I would rather feel like hell for a week than feel like 80% of hell for a month.

OK it looks like I could post so here is my 6 year battle with opiates, all legally prescribed boiled down:

Suboxone was one of the top 3 of the 50+ times I have withdrawn BAD. As I said all legal so I would get my script use in 2-3 days and go through WD every month for 6 years.

You have to be patient and just try everything that is suggested and see what works for YOU. For me, benadryl CAUSES restless legs.

The absolute longest time sober was when I just went CT and listened to stand up  comedy on youtube for the 16 DAYS I couldn't sleep AT ALL (not a wink) and went to NA meetings as often as possible.

Vitamin shoppe ST. John's works about 5% and clonidine (blood pressure med NOT A BENZO) about another 5% but otherwise it is about accepting 3 weeks of physical hell followed by depression for 2-3 months and keeping far away from that one trigger or source that keeps gettin ya back in the game.

NA, comedy, and acceptance that it takes a long time but it does end.

Subxone is similar to what is found in other opiates, like morphine and heroin. As an opiate, buprenorphine can cause the addict’s body to become physically dependent on the drug; however, this effect is much less powerful than the dependency caused by chronic heroin use. In either case, when your body becomes accustomed to Suboxone, suddenly discontinuing the drug will cause your body to undergo withdrawal. Withdrawal is your body’s way of attempting to recover from excessive drug use.

Okay I need help! I'm an id**t and for some stupid reason I started taking more of my suboxone than I should. I am on 12/3mg per day (1/2 film twice) so now I have been trying to space out my last few strips til my dr apt and refill in 3 days. I've been taking 1/2 strip 1 time a day (which is only 1/2 my rx dose) and then the next day take the full dose. Well the last couple days I couldn't stand it and took my full dose! Now I only have 1 strip left and I have to make it 2- 1/2 days!! What should I do???? Please please help!!!!

You would have to be desperate enough to lessen your dose to make it till your next appt. It's tough, but divide your doses equal. Probably time to start considering tapering lower. It's a monster, I know....hang inot there....

The best legal and most importantly, effective options for opiate withdrawal, including Buprenorphine, is Kratom and loperamide. Kratom is a natural Opioid agonist that is not a daughter of the opium poppy.  Its weaker that most opiates but its very effective at treating withdrawals and has a long history of doing just that in the native land where it grows. Kratom Rocks quite frankly, I really enjoy it, and it is a major player in making you feel better and keeping cravings at bay

Loperamide is a legal opioid agonist as well but it does not cross the blood brain barrier, so you dont feel the mental aspect of the opiate high, But, it does fill the receptors in the body making the Physical aspects of opiate withdrawal more managable. Loperamide is the active compound in OTC Anti-diarrhea medicine. Once you get over the stigma of taking 40+mg's of Anti-diarrhea pills, it can be a huge help.

Also just eat healthy if you can, get some Yerba Mate tea for energy and some tulsi tea for the night if you can find it. Make sure you get lots of healthy fats and proteins and try to incorporate some natural adaptogens into your diet like ginseng, Maca, Rhodolia, Chocolate... Hope this Helps, Kratom really is key for getting through withdrawal, after your over the worst of it, get off kratom soon after, as that can be habbit forming as well.

    Take care and stay healthy
