The best method would be an individual taper plan working down slowly from current dosage. When adjusting dosage at higher mg prescriptions, +16 m/+8mg 25-50% titrations produce mild to none existent withdrawal symptoms. It is highly subjective but in my experience a conscious willing decision at a point of personal stability within recovery marks a definite point at which you've decided to adjust your dosage. That personal decision creates a great deal of motivation and initiative to progress forward and maintain your taper. 8 mg and lower (4mg) can be adjusted to 10-15% titration for 14-21 days. 2mg might require less titration at 2-5% for 21-45 days, paying attention to symptoms and progress. Each plan & individual is different and remember addiction ties greatly into control, self-image and personal feelings so being masocistic & die hard is simply another desire to wrestle control of negative emotions which feeling shitty you'll have little desire to process. Plus our bodies run the show so go with the flow let your symptoms determine where your at and if the next taper is right. I don't know the solubility of each inactive ingredient but bup & nalox are alcohol and to a degree water soluble so titration can be broken down to miniscle levels based on mg/ml of liquid or mcg/ml. Tapering is still part of recovery too so original recovery methods and plans still apply. Plus if suboxone came into your life prior to treatment don't sweat find a treatment doctor to stabilize and then work down.

Most definitely taking it slow getting off of the subs was easiest for me..I was on them for almost 5 yrs.& was very scared to try getting off of them..Everytime my dr. cut my dose back I cut it a little more..Hurt a little & couldn't sleep..Oh & the restless legs..Still having that & it's been a month almost since I quit taking them..
Must say that the cravings broadsided me like 2 wks after I quit the subs...I never expected that as bad as it was anyway..So be prepared...Good luck & God bless all..

I am coming off of suboxone literally 8mg daily all bc my I couldn't get to my doctor for my monthly visit and have been on suboxone for a little over 2 years. My doctor was prescribing 2 8mg films per day and now I have to completely just stop. I am in a living HELL!!! I am in full body cramps and cannot eat or sleep bc I have these crazy feelings of needing to constantly move my legs. I am on day 9 and it has gotten worse! I am using the prescription med neurontin which is not prescribed to me but I read that it helped and just my luck it was in my grandmother's meds that she no longer takes but makes me dizzy and takes the edge off a bit along with ibuprofen 800mg and occasionally alcohol and I'm typically not a drinker but I am at the point of trying anything. I feel so weak at this point and probably dehydrated bc everything I eat or drink will come out within 30 minutes or less. I have not even left my house bc I feel like I might faint. I have been to my local er and they treated me very poorly bc I was using suboxone and wouldn't even prescribe nausea meds. I don't know what to do at this point but I do know the severity of stopping suboxone bc my cousin was on day 19 when her mother my aunt rushed her to the er only for her to pass away from what they called dehydration. I remember her vomiting nothing but her own bowel and now her I am in a similar situation and terrified. Please help, any information is helpful. I have not turned to opiates again except for once and it was only half of of a Roxy 30mg and 3 Valium's and it did nothing. I am panicking constantly and feel as if I cannot move. I am so lost at this point.

The best method to get rid of subs is trying alternative therapies like yoga, meditation, and other wellness therapies. Try to spend as much of time with your family and friends. Accept the withdrawal part and prepare your mind to face those symptoms. Cultivate positive thoughts and confidence. Drink plenty of water and try to learn something new. This will deviate your mind from the intake of subs. These are the tips that I got from attending an addiction counseling program done by Helix healthcare group in Toronto. Attending such inspirational programs and sessions will also help you to get some tips regarding addiction withdrawal.

Id like to know... How the hell u do yoga when ur body hurts so bad u dont wanna move but cant stop.. An how do u meditate when ur losing ur mind???? Quiet places make it worse. I agree with keeping yourself busy. But not that. Maybe light excersize when ur able to move without hurting. But yoga??? Thats not a light exercise.

Walk around. Pace. Do anything to get ur mind off of the panics. I have to. I pace. It seems to help. Motirn is the best for the leg cramps. I know what ur going thro. Please remember real withdrawl doesnt kick in for hour 37 with nothing. I know it feels like it starts after 12 hours an just gets worse but hang in there. I know what ur going thro. Im going thro the same thing but on day 4. The worst of the worst will pass after 2 weeks. By 4 weeks youll be sleeping thro the night again. Hang in there

I have been on the Butrans Patch and 3 oxymorphone a day for the past year. I just received letter from Pain management telling me they will not prescribe any more narcotics since I broke the contract. They have a 3 strike policy. The worst part is I am going to Jamaica on the 15th and I run out of the medication next week. I am so terrified because I've been on narcotics for almost half my life due to a degenerative joint disease, so I am familiar with withdrawal. I understand when you stated that you tell yourself "never again. I was supposed to have appointment with pain management on the 14th, but I don't know if I could persuade them to at least give me one more refill till I can find another doctor.
