I have read most of your reviews and I have this burning sensation in my stomach. It's like burning hot I try to put the air conditioning and the fan but it calms it down a little, but does not go away. I become sweaty, I also notice that this has happen after sex and mostly at night. It has happened without sex and after sex. I feel a burning pain all over the stomach but I noticed when I look to pressure it I found that the base could be right under where the rib cage ends in the middle. Is that the duodenum? I also felt a pain in mhy left arm in the muscle area. Is anyones symptums the same that have gone to the doctor and they have told thm what to do? Upon the review I have notice that some of you are the same but not quite, or did your symtups not discrib to full detail. Please help. I just drank some milk and now I will try mylanta. :-(

Wow this is exactly what I started to deal with as of last night.. I had been waking in the middle of the night with burning in my chest.. last night i noticed my stomach started to burn... very uncomfortable.. finally at bed time it was ok til the middle of the night.. I was sleeping on my stomach and no burning in my chest but BOY oh BOY my stomach sure did burn all night.. it was awful same place as you too below the belly button area..

well if you hear anything let me know too please..

I don't think your stomach is below your belly button. Like someone said, your stomach is probably right below your rib cage, where your duodenum is as well; your belly button is definitely below that. Doesn't sound like it's your stomach that's burning!

i was recently in a car accident, right after is when I noticed this burning in my stomach. I cannot stand these feelings. Maybe it's the stress of the accident. The ER room after my accident was not concerned with this problem and didn't do any testing. And my stomach is bloated! I need more input please!!

My daughter in law diagnosed herself with gluten intolerance, after having spent several years with drs. Eliminating gluten products turned her around 100%. I have been having this burning pain in my upper abdomen, also, so I began her regimen, and it began helping immediately. You might also give this a try.

I have felt this way several times and I believe it is when I have taken my medicine on an empty stomach. I always try to take an anti-acid or I try to eat a banana before hand as long as there is something in my stomach before I take my medicine my gut feels fine. Taking medicine on an empty stomach can cause these symptoms.
For the lady who doubled over in pain, diarrhea and vomiting, maybe you ate something bad. I've had this reaction with food poisoning. With food poisoning I had the urge to get to he bathroom, then I started sweating, then I grabbed the waste basket, cause everything came up. Migraine headaches have the same reaction on me.
You must really recheck everything you are doing.
I've seen people have a glass of wine after taking their medicine and have these same effects.

I have been having this problem also, for the passed year my stomach has been like some has lit an fire inside me,like you I am a scared to venture out into the world in case of it happening,
they have put me on so much medicate ,pain killers when I have been to the ER and send home again, test upon test, first they said it was a ulcer then they said u had, what they called after an colonoscopy and gastroscopy they inform me that I had this condition called acalculous cholecystitis
they informed me that it would need to come out the gall bladder, now last week I had a CT scan as the burning is getting worst and find my self crying in my pillow when the attacks occur , now that I have a bulky enlarge spleen with with some splenic varices seen and scattered diverticulae seen through out the large bowel .
NO one seems to know what is going on, at times is causes me to collapse as i get light headed, when admitted to the hospital they treat me with a injection of pain killers and send home, this is ruling my life in and out of the home,
is there some one anyone out there that is suffering the same thing, ijust want ti fixed and get back to normal again

I am so tired of doctors who seem completely unconcerned. Funny that they were all over my thyroid problem (Hashimotos) and seemed most concerned at my thyroid and TSH levels. That just made me a bit stupid (brain doesn't work) and really tired - I think I could cope with that ok. However my stomach problem which is destroying my quality of life seems not to register with them. As I saw my GP she said "we will need to send you for an endoscopy". I said you already sent me for one - she said "when?" Great! She can't spend 60seconds to scan my records to see I have had this problem now for a year! It seems to be escalating, instead of being woken once or twice in the night where I have to have food (I estimate I am consuming the equivalent of another 2 full meals a day) just to lessen the acute burning - now it has ramped up to every 2 hours. I am so tired. I am so fortunate I chose to take a year off work to study and  concentrate on getting well - however I am just backsliding. Six more months of constant burning in the stomach (I think i have bile reflux as I have ruled out most other things) and no sleep and I can't even see that my life would be worth living. I have tried dietary measures - all sorts of strategies, restrictive diets etc.
I feel ripped off - I don't smoke, I don't drink, i eat really healthy foods.

I get the burning feeling in my stomach too. And I'm only 16. Don't know what to do either. I was at the movies tonight and had to leave because it hurt so bad. Should I see a doctor? It's like heartburn in my stomach but when it's burning I also feel hungry like I haven't eaten in days.
