Hello, my older sister has been suffering ever since childbirth with endometriosis and it was really a miracle she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, unfortunately now her latest pap result came in with the worst results yet. She was diagnosed with endocervical adenocarcinoma after the colposcopy and we're still waiting for the rest of the results. I'm trying to keep on the brave face for her, because god knows how tough this whole thing must be for her, but it would help me at least to get any information on this type of cancer. Can it be surgically removed? Will she need to have chemotherapy? If the cancer hasn't spread and she can have the surgery, what can we expect in terms of her life quality?

I don't know about your sister's particular case, but I do know that the definition of this kind of cancer was changed a few years ago so that what used to be called "abnormal cells" are now defined as "cancer." If the condition is caught early and treated, it is very, very survivable, and even in developing countries (I've written about this on Steady Health) there are treatments that save lives without disrupting daily life.
