I am 19 years old and for a year or so I have had lightheadedness, dizzyness, & a sharp pain, all in my head..my eyes go foggy and its very painfull. I have to stop what I am doing and "calm" myself I could be making a bed or shopping, playing with my son or just sitting or walking thru the house, my heart feels like it is about to fall out of my chest and I have to consentrate on breathing, I have not seen a DR yet, my mom had lots of health problems, heart and breathing problems, once she passed out in a driveway, I am scared of having the same happen to me, I will see a DR when I can. But until then I am going to try to eat healthier and excersise, this never happend when I played sports in school, well good luck to everyone..

As a vegetarian, I tend to get low on protein and iron easily if I don't watch what I'm eating and supplementing correctly. When this happens, I get lightheaded and dizzy easily.

It may or may not be the culprit for you guys, but it definetely won't hurt to monitor your intake or try supplementing with a little extra of these nutrients.

By the way- if you are low on iron, 14k gold can sometimes turn your surrounding skin black (not green, like with cheap metals.) Every now and then my wedding ring will do that, so that's my cue to grap some iron!

Hiya all!

All this stuff sounds SO familiar...it's scary that we're all feeling the same way, but kind of a comfort too - makes me feel a bit more normal instead of thinking my body has been possessed with some weird illness, haha!

I started getting the dizzies and brain fog in a noticable way about 2 years ago, after I'd had a bit too much to drink - figured it was just a part of the hangover, and that since I was getting a bit older (I was 27/28 at the time), that was how my body was reacting.
Then, about a year ago, I was working in a winery in New Zealand and all of a sudden BAM! I felt strange all the time - buzzing in head, vertigo/dizziness most of the time, vision issues, ringing ears, constant headache (feels like a band is wrapped around my head or like there's a pile of books being pressed down the top of my head), constant fatigue, lethargic...you name it, and if it was a bad feeling, I had it.
It totally changed my personality - I'm a positive person, pretty outgoing and can handle most situations with ease. I found myself simply wanting to stay inside, not socialise, and became increasingly negative about everything. The worst part was that I felt like a stranger in my own brain/mental processes...irrational, mood swings like WOAH, and even some auditory and vision hallucinations at times...sometimes things would move when I knew they hadn't and sound would seem SUPER amplified or metallic when they should't have been.
Not fun. And very concerning. I seriously thought I was started to develop schizophrenia.
I've been to an ear/nose/throat specialist, who said my sinus' and ears were fine, had a CT scan, seen a neurologist, a couple different GP's - the works. None of them have been able to find anything wrong - my heart is fine, my hormone levels are alright, blood pressure is healthy...all good.

Around Christmas I'd had ENOUGH - had gotten to the point that I'd wake up crying out of fear and confusion and pain - and I remembered that a few years ago when I'd seen a naturalpathic doctor she'd mentioned that I should get my metal fillings taken out. So, I scheduled another appointment with her, and sure enough, she tested me and said (yet again) that my fillings, which contained mercury and a few other toxic metals, were leaking and wreaking havic on my body and mind/mental processes. She also said that the reason why it all of a sudden got worse while I as in NZ working at the winery was because mercury and sulfates (I was mixing up potassium metabisulphate in LARGE quantities every day to put into the wine - even while wearing a gas mask, I could feel the chemical burning my nose and lungs) like each other and caused some major releases of mercury into my system.

Within the last month I've had them taken out and replaced with the white ones composite ones. I've noticed a few changes already - my mood swings are way less and my brain doesn't feel like it's constantly racing/being bombarded with thoughts that just wouldn't stop. Physically, I'm feeling stronger bit by bit...I'm not back to running 8 miles everyday yet, and probably won't be for awhile, but the de-tox process takes awhile.
My headaches are less frequent and less powerful. I still have a pretty constant feeling of lightheadedness, but it's getting less. The ringing in the ears is less as well, and I haven't felt the buzzing/electrical current feel at ALL since getting them out.
There's a bunch of other stuff I've noticed, but I've already wrote an obscenely long post, haha.

The long and short of it is...seriously give it a try. I've done a fair amount of research on the effects that mercury has on the body and mind, and it's just not good stuff. Even if you're a skeptic as far as natural care goes, do some research and talk to a few natural healthcare practicioners - the worst that can happen is that you'll have a fully white mouth instead of unnatural looking metal in it.

If you DO decide to get rid of them, please do find a dentist that supports the move, as there are certain precautions that you need to take during removal (at the VERY least, make sure you have a dental dam, so no bits get swallowed, and get extra suction going as well). A qualified naturalpath should give you some more advice as to other precautions (oxygen breathing mask, etc).

Here's a few links to get you started:

Hope this helps!
Prayer and love.

Wow, what a story! Thanks!

I never had symptoms like that, but I did have all my mercury fillings removed a couple years ago, as to prevent illness.

Hi All... don't know if it's right to say "glad to see others going thru the same thing too" but nevertheless this wholething is insane. We're all going thru the same c**p - changed our life completely. I mean just like so many other stories I've read, affraid to stand in line at the grocery store.. well I just ran out of a damn Walmart, this thing came over me, lightheadedness, palpitation, shortness of breath, taught I was going to pass out right then and there. Left my grocery and all in the cart, and just quietly walk out, doing a relaxation exercise counting backward in 3s from 300. 1/2 way thru i was not even sure what the heck i was saying.

It's obvious y'all notice my frustration. Well just like the rest of you, I've been to the doctor(S), everything darn test is AOK, cardio, stress test, bloodpressure, sugar level, ct scan, liver, and i even requested an HIV test, came out neg. Last time I ran into my GP office after having feeling of passing out, she told me " I don't know what to do with you- all your test came out fine". She's sending me to see a neurologist. I mean I'm glad all the tests turned out neg, but geees I feel like c**p, and can't even make it thru the grocery store. I've had episode at church too, where I had to just leave the service and just go outside and get some air, then off I drove in my car- goodbye church - devil is liar.

About the neurologist, I don't even wanna go, cause he ain't gonna find nothing wrong with me either. Just more hospital bill adding to my stress. But again it plays tricks in my head thinking maybe he'll figure out what's wrong with me. I'm freaking sick and tired of this c**p, feel like I'm gonna pass out one day and just die. I told my GP I'm under a lot of stress, that maybe I have anxiety problems. But Nope she dont think so.

It's sad to see with so much technology these days, and yet so many of us are suffering in silence from this mystery disease or sickness. Just ranting y'all, just ranting... also it would be nice to get some followup posts on your stories from many of you. Perhaps you've found a solution, and for sure the rest of us can perhaps get a "ah hah moment".

Good luck to all, I'll keep you all in my prayers, and sorry about the long post.

im 30 and feeling lightheadedness sometimes, while driving, it scares me while driving because i might faint and have a car crash along with my family.

i dont know what cause it or trigger it im pretty normal, and even started to get fit by exercising and dieting, hoping it will cure it but it did not, but after a year of observation, i think its my blood circulation.

1. if you sit down the car, make sure you sit lightly and not press your major vain in the crotch.
2. hold the steering lightly and dont be tense on your shoulder because it might constrict your major vain near the armpit.
3. sit laid back and not up front near the windshield like most driver do, so you dont stretch your major vain in the neck by doing a chin up. also i experience lightheadedness, during sudden acceleration or the terrain is a mild climb, by sitting laid back, blood will circulate properly on the head because of inertia while you will have a black out effect like pilot experience if you put your head up front because circulation is being left out due to the cars momentum.

One thing I noticed while glancing over this. Age around 30?
I am what so many has described all ready. Lightheaded, headache, dizzy, weak/tired, cold sweats. I been having problems past week or so again. I have a a couple crushed discs in my lower and upper back. I have a pump in me to send bupivican and dilaudid straight to my back in which has killed my testostarone. My body does not produce it any more. Well I took a new med today that is so post to help me stay awake and so on. Well it just made me worse. A lot worse. Nice to know I am not alone. So anything about being around 30 and having this problem. A generation thing?

I hope you come back and read this. Sounds like you are going through panic attacks. Sever panic attacks. If you do not have a savings with a lot of money in or stocks in the market or anything you can get money with quickly you can go get medical to cover the medical costs. If you are still feeling like you are in hell. Go to the ER. who cares about the bill. Just tell them you are going to get medical when you get out. It is always better to have to worry about a bill than not being here at all. When I have my panic attacks I can collapse right were I am at. There has been times I just verilly made back to my truck and be able to relax and let my body brain do what it is going to do. Cold sweats, light headed, nauses, wobbly legs, confusion, weak, tired. Happen to me yesterday. I had dinner and half hour later I went out in the yard working on my main rc track and that was all it took and I just stumbled back into my place and collapsed on my bed.
But if you are still having the problems and no period in months there is something wrong. Please get checked out. Do you have someone to help you?

Yes, it does sound like a panic attack...i get them frequently, same symptoms as what you described.

It can be very frightening but you're doing the right thing by calming yourself down mentally. My heart also skips beats and is more noticeable when i am at rest. I've been to the doctor and he's requested a heart monitor to see if they can capture a missed beat and hopefully diagnose the problem if there is one.

same thing with me. I feel it comes and goes. When I have the light headedness it is terrible, I can till do things but there goes my day and I drag myself through it. Other days it is not there and I am fine. I wonder if it has to do with internal bleeding because of a pulp somewhere inside the body. I yet have to figure that one out. I have had this happening since three years now. A friend of mine said when she takes multivitamine it goes away. I will try that too.

Hi everybody:) Wow this is like a kid going into a candy store for me! I'm 33 years old and have been suffering from a combination of dizziness and light headedness since I turned 22 years old. It was like a sudden change, which turned out to bring alot of confustion in my life in the years following. At times the symptoms would get so bad to the point where I thought wow I'm totally nuts! So I eoulf go to the doctor for a physical...... and much to my surprise-completely healthy so the doctor says. Well as it turns out I've just had to come up with some coping strategies in these past 11 years to deal with the daily pain of being light headed and dizzy. It's very difficult to have this, but I've found that exercise helps alot. To answer a question from an earlier post, yes drinking does actually help (with my experience) but it's not a good medication to use to be tipsy everyday;) So here I am today, light headed, writing this to share with the the many people who share the same problem that I do. Thanks for being here! It's amazing the hope that a group of people can bring one another.

This is definitely weird. My lightheadedness started with what appeared to be a panic attack. After that went away, I was OK, but had another smaller panic attack a few days later. That also subsided in about 20 minutes and then a couple of days after that the feeling of lightheadedness settled in. For good. Some days are better than others and if I do not go out drinking, the symptoms are fairly mild. But they are constantly there. All the tests I did came out negative. Doctors mentioned a couple of things:

1. Low blood pressure (I've had low blood pressure all my life, so don't know if that's really the cause)
2. Stress (I wasn't particularly stressed when I started having the symptoms)
3. Exhaustion (I was getting plenty of sleep)

So totally puzzled like the rest of you. If I come across anything new, I'll let you know.

Hi

First let me say that I'm not in the medical profession so I'm not giving you medical advice. I'll just tell you WHAT I WOULD DO if I were in your shoes. The decision is completely yours.

Did you guys know that Iodine deficiency is once again becoming an epidemic in this country? Your symptoms sound a lot like Iodine deficiency. Start doing research online about how to test for this deficiency; it’s very cheap and simple (iodine skin paint test). Like I said don’t take my advice and just start taking iodine, please get out there and study up on this. There are several good ways to get Iodine through supplements like Lugol’s solution and Iodoral. You don’t need a prescription, however you may want to consult your physician before starting this. Your doctor will probably not test for this, it goes undiagnosed quite often. Long ago iodine was added to salt so that everyone would get at least the minimum RDA, however things have changed markedly since this practice was implemented. Under active thyroid (caused from low iodine intake) can cause all sorts of symptoms like this. The RDA for Iodine (as found in some multivitamins) is about 150 micrograms/day, this is just barely enough to keep you from getting goiter, you may need much more. Be very careful though, too much is not good either. It’s easy for people to confuse milligrams with micrograms. There is plenty of info out there you just have to look for it. Please report back here with any comments or to let us all know about your findings. Good luck everyone! I know how terrible the light-headedness can be.

Oh yeah, if after a few months of the above treatment (if you undertake it) you are showing no improvements, you may want to look into doing a strong parasite cleanse (black walnut, wormwood, cloves, etc.) and starting probiotics. There is a lot of info out there on this as well. Educate yourselves thoroughly!

I am 22 years old, prospective student for masters from Nepal and I WAS suffering from lightheadedness. In my cast, it used to strike me every time I was preparing myself to study, particularly the Mathematical problems. During my preparation on GRE (Graduate Record Examination), it was easier for me to solve vocabulary questions rather than the Mathematics ones. Being a graduate student with an engineering background, the possibility of an impact due to math anxiety was almost out of question. And being a non native student from overseas, vocabulary without any doubt was hard for me.

My lightheadedness used to increase with the extent of mathematical problems infront of me. As a result, I used get an instant numbness on the part almost 1 inches on the circumference of the head joining my neck and almost 3-4 centimeters inside. The magnitude of my numbness used to increase with increase in my effort to concentrate on the matter. During lightheadedness: Numbness is directly Proportional to Concentration. Frequently, I used to get short of breath as well and stiff neck.

I was worried. As the frequency of lightheadedness increases, i was really afraid that it would prolong and become permanent and I will be never ever be able to fulfill my dreams. Then, I started searching all over internet;however, the only thing I could get was people with similar problems. On the internet, I found out many users already gone thorough several treatments without any satisfaction, I decided to find a cure by myself (though from the information through internet )

As this thing was a new coined in my family and friends, I used to get only one suggestion: Take rest. My sleeping habit was a chaos. I never had a fixed schedule for sleeping. Normally, I used to sleep at 2-3 am in the morning almost every day and wake up at 9-10 am. Then I thought to change my sleeping habit. Now from 12-7 am. At the mean time, I changed my glasses, from -1.75 to -1.5 (quite interesting, as the power for my glasses decreased my .25 as normally power increases with age). I am vegetarian. I stayed outside my country for almost 4 months and it was painstaking job to get the right meal. It has been a month that I have added something for my meal. The biggest thing was my breakfast: 2 Brown breads, 1 small tea cup of Soy Beans and a glass of milk. Further, I added a whole lot of water for the afternoon. And well, after no more than 2 weeks, it was over. Though I still feel the presense of some obtrusion at the similar position, but the feeling of anxiety and failure to

Concentrate has just gone. In retrospect, I was really really afraid. I thought I had an Ulcer, or a Blood problem or even Cancer or may be I was just not normal. I have never expressed the extent of my

Problem to my parents, but my parents were ready to serve me as they were really afraid of my food absenteeism. I am not sure what was the real cause for my lightheadedness and I am equally obscure about what caused it to lessen its intensity. But, as far as I can connect all these things, I should have a problem with my eyes. When we practice mathematical practices or things on computers, our eyes makes fractional discrete movements and need more stress. At the same time, I may have scanty of required nutrients. Actually, I was in Bangkok, it can turn very very ugly for vegetarians. The biggest mystery was the decrease in the power of my glasses, which was really weird.
