Hello, please I need an answer. If fertilization takes place, when will human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) start developing and when will it appear in the urine in readiness for Pregnancy test?

HCG production starts once the implantation takes place, which can be six to twelve days after fertilization.  The levels double every few days, but they will not show up on a pregnancy test until they reach 20 mlU/mL in your body.  A blood test can pick up levels once they reach 5 mlU/mL.

Generally, a human body has less than 5 mlU/mL in their body unless levels are spiked because of production by implantation, or other triggers such as certain forms of cancer.  Depending on how much your body produces it and how much determines how soon a pregnancy test will pull up as positive.  Your best bet is likely to wait until the time of your period to test.
