I had 5 banded hemorrhoids last Thursday along with a fistulectomy under general anesthesia. It has been a week now and pain is only worse. Taking 4 - 6 Percocet daily and stool softeners, too. Drinking tons, but not eating much because I know what goes in must come out, and each of my daily BMs have resulted in pain akin to childbirth. I take 3 - 5 baths or sitz baths daily as well. Lots of bleeding, foul bloody discharge every day. Broke down and called the doctor's office this morning and was told this is all normal, to add some Miralax to my daily routine. I have not left my house for a week (I am retired and live alone with my dog.). How long does this generally last? When will I lose the hemorrhoids and bands (aka vice grips) that are holding me painfully hostage in my home? Your help (and prayers) are greatly appreciated!
