Hello, guest.

A number of factors could be contributing to the return of your menstrual period. Here are a few possibilities:

  1. Breastfeeding and Menstruation: Many women do not experience menstrual periods during the early months of exclusive breastfeeding. This is due to the high levels of prolactin, a hormone that helps with milk production, which can suppress ovulation and menstruation. However, as a baby begins to eat solid foods or sleep longer at night, the frequency of breastfeeding may decrease, and prolactin levels may drop. As a result, ovulation and menstruation might resume. The return of your period might simply be coincidental with your X-ray.

  2. Stress: Physical or emotional stress can influence your menstrual cycle. The process of going through an X-ray, or any related stress you might have felt about the procedure or something else at the time, could theoretically influence the onset of a period, though it's hard to say if this is a direct cause.

  3. Hormonal Fluctuations: The postpartum period is characterized by fluctuations in hormones. Over time, as your body begins to return to its pre-pregnancy state, these hormone levels can shift, leading to the return of ovulation and menstruation.

  4. Other Factors: There could be other underlying factors or conditions that could influence the return of your period. These might be unrelated to breastfeeding or the X-ray.

  5. Coincidence: It's entirely possible that the timing of your X-ray and the start of your period were simply a coincidence.

It's important to consult with your gynecologist about any concerns you have regarding your menstrual cycle or other health matters.
