im trying to cut down/quit because i think my anxiety is now being worsened by smoking (i think it used to help, but then i just overdid it smoking daily), but i do not want to completely quit for the rest of my life. im 17 and plan to smoke occasionally this year and in college. im just afraid that this anxiety that i have when im sober will go away like withdrawal should but will come back full-force next time i smoke

any experience with this?

I know someone who suffers from anxiety that is especially worse when she smokes marijuana.  Through her experience I have learned that typically certain strains of marijuana make it worse for her, so finding a good, clean, natural strain may be more beneficial to curb the anxiety.  Another tip is not to over due it.  Everything looses its allure when you go overboard.  So smoke every once in a while, if you buy a bag, try and make it last more than a week.  But to answer your direct question, no, smoking once shouldn't make anxiety come flooding back unless its a bad strain that is prone to creating paranoia (cheaper strains usually have this problem).  If you're spending less than $50 on an 1/8 than you can probably expect to feel bad, however, some expensive strains make you feel that way also, so really the key is try before you buy.

thanks.. the thing is i kinda quit cold turkey with a couple of smoking sessions thrown in probably once a week or so, and i cant tell if im better off just stopping completely or smoking occassionally
i mean i know i will end up smoking soonish, im just afraid of all these feelings coming back. its sucks cuz its my senior year and im on the volleyball team and its so hard to do all my homework and everything and stay sane, and its these first few months that are most important this year and thats how long it might take for me to be normal again

Well I think if you go into it afraid then you are definitely going to run a higher risk of freaking yourself out when you are high. Just take it easy and don't put to much emphasis on it and I'm sure you will be fine. And it's not the end of the world if you don't smoke pot.

I was looking for info on herbal smoking blends you can buy or make yourself to help with cravings from stopping smoking marijuana. Are there harmful ones? Better for mild anxiety from jone-zing cravings?
