When skin is stretched, new skin cells are formed by cells dividing into two new cells. This means there is more skin. The increase in size is permanent. There is a name for this process. It is called "mitosis".

Hi Steadyiron:

That sharp pain you felt might have been tearing that fusion away.

Hi GeoEdwardo:

Do not worry! You are normal for your age. You will NOT need a circumcision.

Almost all boys are born with a foreskin that does not retract. This is normal. It takes years for the ability to retract to develop. About ½ of boys have a retractable foreskin by 10.4 years of age. Many adolescents still have foreskins that have tips that are too narrow to pass back over the penis head. These foreskins may be gently stretched over a period of time to cause them to widen.

It is normal for teens to have a foreskin that does not retract. One’s foreskin is still developing. One can help it develop by stretching it.

When your penis is erect, gently pull your foreskin back against the head of the penis. As the head attempts to pass through the foreskin it will stretch the skin a little. Do this every day and in a few weeks or months your foreskin will widen and you will be able to retract your foreskin. Do NOT force retraction. Do NOT cause yourself pain.

It works by tissue expansion. Stretching skin induces “mitosis” which is a word that means “division of cells”. New skin cells are formed and the skin expands but it takes some time. The increase in size is permanent. Be patient and give mitosis time to work.

The important thing is to put the skin under tension every day so that it will grow wider.

It is never necessary to be circumcised. Non-retractile foreskin is not a reason to get a circumcision. Circumcision is a very destructive, damaging, and harmful operation. Furthermore, it is an ELECTIVE operation that in only done with the consent of the patient.

Hi Kevin B:

That is a good thought!!

Baby boys are born with the inner layer of the foreskin fused with the surface of the underlying glans penis. This is natural, normal, and protects against infection. Over some years the fusion spontaneously disintegrates and releases the inner foreskin. This usually happens prior to puberty, but not always.

It is not uncommon in adolescence to have the inner layer of the foreskin still fused to the glans penis. It is not a serious problem.

Hi James Rogers:

It is normal at your age to have a foreskin that still doen't retract.

There are some ways to wash out your foreskin until you can get it to retract. It is really easy to painlessly clean out your foreskin without retracting it. Here are two ways:

1. Urine is a sterile substance when it leaves the body so it is an excellent washing agent. Pinch the tip of your foreskin shut when you pee. Let the urine fill up your foreskin. You will see your foreskin balloon because of the urine inside. Then release the tip and all of the urine inside your foreskin will come gushing out and clean out whatever is inside. This is best done in the shower as it tends to be messy.

or

2. Get a rubber bulb ear syringe from a drug store, pharmacy, or chemist’s shop. These are designed to squirt warm water into ear canals to clean them out. They also work great for cleaning out foreskins. Fill the ear syringe with warm (not hot) water and then insert the tip of the syringe into your foreskin. Then squeeze the bulb and a jet of warm water will squirt into your foreskin and clean out whatever is inside. This can be done over the bathroom washbasin.

Don’t use soap or body wash inside your foreskin because soap dries out the skin oils essential for good health.

Hi I am rather concerned about my penis as well the thing is I can pull it all the way back when it's soft in the bath but it does take a bit of effort. However when it's hard, it's not so easy in fact it's a little painful as I pull back more and more I haven't been able to pull it all the way back when it's hard. And when I had sex it was quite painful as it was drawn back when it was hard which embarrassingly made it go soft inside her

Hi. What you need to do is slowly stretch your foreskin when your hard by pulling it back a couple times a few as far as you can without it getting painful and hold it at that point for 30 seconds to a minute and in time your find in time it will slowly stretch. Hope this helps :-)

I'm 14 and the tip of my penis is about 1 cm and baggy and I'm worried because it's not a bellend, I'm wondering if it's normal for this at 14 or should I do something about it. Thanks.

My penis is quite big it's just the fact that the tip of it is long. I'm scared of pulling it back but I do masturbathe daily.

Hi guest. Not sure if the last 2 posts both belong to you or not just trying to work out what you mean by (the tip of my penis is about 1 cm and baggy and I'm worried because it's not a bellend) do you mean the opening in the end of your foreskin is only 1cm and you can't see the glands?
Next you say (My penis is quite big it's just the fact that the tip of it is long) do you mean when your erect and the foreskin is long and why are you scared to pull it back?
The more information you can give the easier it is to try and help you :-)

They're both mine I just want to know if I'm supposed to have a bellend at 15 because I mistyped my age earlier. I know baby's have my problem bypecause I've seen my baby cousins penis before and it had what I have at the tip of his penis so I'm just wondering if I'll grow out of it since I'm only 15 or do I have to do something.

If you have a foreskin then you won't see the glands (bell end) until you pull your foreskin right back to expose it just like most body parts on different people none are the same shape and size so as penis size and share the same goes for that to. Does this answer your question?
