This seems like a normal varicocele. I myself have one on the left testicle. If you are very concerned about it do not wait at all to tell your parents, there's nothing to be ambarassed about, it's just life. I built enough courage, for I am a 14 year old under my parents insurance to finally tell them about it. You will feel much relief knowing they know about it, in case it ever gets bad. You'll instantly be able to have a trip to the docs. It's better to be safe than to hide everything. Other than that I have heard many times that a varicocele is often painless and common. Don't worry much bro!

Does masturbation cause it to become more sensitive/ache more or does it have no effect? I've seen some people say it has no effect, but others say that excessive masturbation can irritate it. I tend to find that when I do masturbate more than usual - I have a day or two where the veins become achey and uncomfortable and this can even cause aches in the lower abdomen.

The Marine disclaimer is just another way of saying "Don't use big words, please." Seriously though, a doc would excuse him from PT if there was a real problem requiring treatment... Otherwise he puts your worries to rest and you can go on not stressing about your testicles being sick. I've had varicoceles on both of my testicles for as long as I can remember (I'm 24 now). My pediatrician kept tabs on them when I went in for annual physicals, and now my regular GP does, haven’t seen a specialist. My condition isn’t serious enough need surgery or any other treatment for now. They do ache sometimes but usually (as someone else mentioned) on hot days when stuff’s hanging loose. Might be obvious, but if you have pain from that try getting some boxer-briefs or whatever you wear that’s more supportive. My advice for anyone reading this thread would be to see your doctor if you think there is something wrong with your balls, especially if it’s a new lump or the lumps are getting bigger. Nobody but a doctor is going to be able to diagnose your condition, if you have one. If you're healthy, a doctor is the only one who can tell you for sure that everything's normal down there so you can quit worrying about it (you know you’ll just keep second-guessing your “internet diagnosis”). If your junk hurts for more than a day or two do yourself a favor and call the doctor to make an appointment, otherwise you're taking a risk of letting some serious problem go untreated. Personally, I wouldn't take that risk, considering how much I enjoy having the stuff in that area healthy and functional :P If you're a kid and you're embarrassed, just remember doctors are professionals – looking at your nuts is just a part of their job and literally nothing about it is awkward or weird to your doctor – only to you. It’s an entirely routine exam, they have to do it every day (probably several a day) and they've seen it all before. Only thing you have to do is get over yourself and get your parents make the appointment - not a big deal.

I'm 16, I was about to take a shower when I suddenly felt this lump on my left testicle similar to as described, I got on the computer right away. Is there anyway to stop the ache?, also why is it only on one testicle. This is the first time this situation occurred, right after I finished masturbating.
