I'm a male, 18.
Today, after ejaculating, I accidentally got some sperm on my hand, and while cleaning up I left it there to clean my hand after as it wasn't that much. However, I started to notice a strange color change and after washing it persists. My skin is now itchy and has a rash.
Is this sperm allergy? Is it even possible in males?
Hello.
It is possible for individuals to have allergic reactions to semen, including sperm. This condition is known as seminal plasma hypersensitivity or semen allergy.
Semen allergies are relatively rare in males compared to females, but they can occur. The symptoms can vary and may include itching, redness, swelling, rash, or hives on the skin that came into contact with the semen. These symptoms typically appear within minutes to hours after exposure.
If you suspect that you may have a semen allergy, it is best to consult with an allergist. They can conduct a thorough evaluation, including a medical history review and potentially perform tests to confirm the diagnosis.
In the meantime, you can try washing the affected area thoroughly with mild soap and water to remove any remaining semen. Applying a cold compress or using over-the-counter antihistamine creams or oral antihistamines may also help alleviate the itching or rash.
Do you have any more symptoms?
