I have had bad stomach pains on the left side with a swollen stomach, looks like I was 6 months pregnant. The pain reminded me of when I use to have bad cramps during my period. I had heartburn, burping and constipation. I went to the doctor and he told me I should get an ultrasound to rule out crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, etc. He also wants me to go for a colonoscopy which is another good idea. I told him I have been eating Broccoli rob, escarole salad and other greens. He said it is most likely the broccoli and escarole that is causing it. I stopped eating all the greens and the pain went away. I also drank a bottle of magnesium sulfate to clean out my system. My stomach went down and no more burping and pain.

:( HI, I have the same thing! I have had what feels like ovary pains on my left side fopr over 7 months. It gets worse when sitting and can spread to my back, hips or buttock. I've had stomach and uterine ultra-sounds, blood tests, colonoscopy and lower lumbar MRI. Nothing found.I am very gasy and have bouts of diarihea from time to time. I am also very bloated and have gained about 10 pounds within a year.I'm depressed from feeling this way, especially when every doctor tells me I'm so healthy. I was told it couls be IBS but I have to regulate my diet and no meds can help. It's super depressing! Wish you luck, lets hope it gets better.I have the exact same thing..dull left sided pressure..not quite pain but a very noticeable pressure on left side of stomach near hip...I also have a change in bowel and the gas exist with or without eating! If anyone has a diagnosis please respond!

Indeed, doctors I have encoubntered are very quick to fob off with PCOS 'diagnosis'. I have the same pain, lower left, sometime swtching to the right (lower too). As a female, I instinctively think GU probs (all checked, all clear for PID, UTIs and STIs, but still the pain. I have acopper coil (checked 2 times via ultra sounds due to the pain ogver the last 2 1/2 years, but said to be in the correct place. The US did however pick up PCOS. As this was noticed, the pain was atributed to that. I am not sure though that this is the full conclusion as the pain existis (can be related to bowel movements), but is mostly after sex (ie a day or 2 after-- is sex agitating another problem?). I have had IBS medicine, but no change. HELP!

I am so glad you stood up for yourself. We are the only ones who truly know when and if there is an issue with our bodies and a lot of doctors tend to write us off too quickly! I also am having similar issues in my lower left hand side and I am glad I read your post as I will not be dismissed by doctors! Great health to you! :)

I have this too, swollen lower stomac by left hip, not a pain, just this pressure. Feels more obvious at night laying down (when I can feel and see the bulge) feels definately related to PMS as the swelling goes right down after first day of period. The ultra sound showed a few masses (one particularly large 7cm one) When investigated Gyno side I have Fibroids (soft masses but NOT a tumor) She said removing them can make me infertile so best to leave them alone since though annoying they are pretty harmless (horrific cramping during period being one symptom), she said getting pregnant can get rid of them and so will menopause. But besides that best to leave them, and just keep an eye on it. Her opinion. I came of the pill a year ago and a doctor friend recommended I go back one it as symptoms got worse when I came off it. She said the hormonal changes of coming off the pill might have made it worse. So going to see if that helps, can't hurt.
