There is a risk that people that have bipolar and take accutane can develope more psyciatric symptoms.

I am sure that you are not asking this question without good reason and since I was persistent in trying to find an answer on the web here is what I have find out.

There was one case in which teenager who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder was using Accutane for his acne problem. It seems that the symptoms of his disorder didn’t get any worse but also the problem with acne wasn’t resolved.

But there was one case study in which combination of bipolar disorder and Accutane has led to the suicide.

So I believe this combination still needs some additional research and if your doctor is suggesting this combination try to ask him about statistics and concrete examples.
