To all of you getting this reaction: it has nothing to do with your medical histories. You have simply developed an allergy or sensitivity to either the glue that's being used or the acrylic itself. If your fingers/fingertips are burning , swelling or itching, take an allergy pill but most importantly take the nails off! you could end up losing your real nail if the symptoms persist.

This happens to me all the time. I do my own artificial nails, its a struggle, but I do. And each time, my skin ALWAYS starts peeling on the sides and they're really irritating and really painful. I don't want to peel it but sometimes I have to. Then my skin turns red. Please explain to me what I do so I wont have to go through this struggle again

I m going though the same exact thing because I have them wrapped with band aids and ointment underneath. I love to have my nails decorated for holidays and as others stated I can't keep my real nails manicured for more than a day, first bout of dishes and the Polish is gone. I am going to try the Vite stuff in hopes that this fixes things. I thought it was the primer but this last time I didn't use it and still have the same problem. I think it is the acrylic liquid, and when u have filed them before applying the liquid and caught ur cuticles it's even worse. i am in pain and don't want to touch them to take them off,I just did them and aim going nowhere near acetone to soak them off. I have tried every ointment and now am on diaper rash cream, and no lotion does nothing.

Hello I also have the same problem. It started 3 years ago. I was allergic to acrylic nails after having my nails done for 20 years. I went to a few new places but the same thing happened. My skin hurt so much and cracked skin and peeling they looked awful. I gave it a rest for about 1 year then I started to do the gel It costs $50 but problem solved. Did that for the last 2 years and the place I go to talked me into acrylic again and it happened again craqcking itching. I am going to take them off wait awhile and go back to gel and will never ever do acrylic again. I read once that you are allergic once you will always be allergic.

Has anyone determined what this is? I have the same issue. It started after I had a child. 10 years later I still have the same issue with acrylic nails

It is the acrylates and over exposure.
Should issue warnings at salons
