I received the Advanta lip implants about 4 weeks ago. The right side of my top lip does not seem as full as the left side or my bottom lip. The doctor said the implants will shift and stabilize and that it takes 3 months to fully heal. Is this correct? I just don't want a lopsided top lip. I love the implants but I hate noticing a slight uneven part. Thanks

I haven't had lip implants, and I'm not a medical professional, but I've had other cosmetic procedures, and full healing of anything like that always takes a lot longer than four weeks.

You may have more residual swelling on one side than the other -- especially if the cuts and implant insertion was all done from a cut in one side of your lip. It makes sense to me what the doctor said, that the implants are going to shift a little as time goes on.

Personally, I would expect to wait at least three or four months before getting "worried" that one side is fuller than the other. If a few months from now they still seem as different in fullness then as they do now (i.e. no improvement), then I would consider talking to the doctor about whether an adjustment is needed. More than likely they will balance out in a couple more months. Hang in there! Beauty takes time.
