Hi...I am having septoplasty this month, but I will be leaving for vacation 25 days after. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I will be fine by then?
Does the outward appearance of your nose look completely normal after the first week? Will the discomfort still be there?
Any info would be really helpful...I am considering cancelling the surgery and waiting until after my trip, but I can't take not being able to breathe any longer!

Well what has your doctor said? I remember I wanted to go so bad to the beach for my summer vacations and I couldn't :( doctor told me that the sun and sand wouldn't be good for me and wearing sun glasses wasn't an option so I have to change them and I end up having a peru luxury vacations 'cause I couldn't do sports for like 6 months, just walk.

I did enjoy my trip but if the doctor said that you must rest then it could be a good idea to postpone the surgery until after your vacations.

Good luck, hope this helps!

I was on peru too, it's wonderful right michi86? I take a great peru tours you went by your own?
but well about the surgery I think you will be ok after the 25 days, it's almost a month. but that deppends of your vacation destination if it's the beach I should recommend you to postpone the surgery or maybe the trip, if it's to somewhere else without a lot of sun I think you will be ok. but take care in every case.

I know this thread's old but I'm replying in case anyone else comes to it wondering the same thing. I'm flying 21 days after my surgery and looked around. I found a few sites that said to avoid it for 10-14 days after surgery, so anything over 2 weeks should be safe, assuming recovery is going smoothly.
