I have been diagnosed with AMPPE and it looks like this condition is not equally spread in both eyes. It seems that the blind spots are differently positioned in both eyes, which were the basic symptoms which lead the doctors to think this is AMPPE. So, they did not give me any straight answer relating to the recovery and I would like to know what will happen to my eyesight?
Well, you have to know that AMPPE truly is a rare disease and with that said, there is still not much known about the exact cause, although the doctors mention a relation to some sort of vasculitis in the central nervous system. Whatever the case, the prognosis is not bad at all. Almost 80% of patients reach the recovery, or at least a visual acuity of 20/40.
Hi I was diagnosed with this condition December 2010 and it was very scary at first. Before I had the vision problems I had about 2 weeks of feeling shocking, headaches, fevers, completely stuffed. The condition is worse in my left eye but both eyes are affected and still healing in 2012 most likely left with scaring.
