I get it mostly when I lay in bed. It starts off with a tight chest and my heartbeat feels like it is thumping so hard when it isn't. I have an obsession with putting my fingers on my neck and feeling for the heartbeat in case it may stop, even though realistically I know it won't.

Then the 'wave' comes over me, where I need to walk around the house for fear of passing out/dying. It is the most horrible experience and I find trawling the internet for similar people with similar situations a huge help. Zoloft is working really well for me too but man, sometimes these buggers just won't leave me be. Anxiety is just too horrible for words sometimes.
Hi:
I hope by now you are feeling better. I wanted to ask if you definitely know the cause of your anxiety. Specifically, if not have you ever had your thyroid checked. A thyroid condition that has not been treated might cause the sensations, chest pain, etc. that you are experience. It could also cause the anxiety. This is just a thought. If you choose to seek out answers in this area, see an Endocrinologist. They specialize in this area. I hope this helps. Again, happy healing. Please let us know how things are going.

It sounds to me a lot like you are experiencing the symptoms of anxiety. I have posted on here before about my migraines and other problems that I had when I was experiencing severe anxiety, but anxiety can manifest itself in a huge number of ways. It sounds to me exactly like you're having some bad problems, but just remember--reacting to it only makes it worse. I used to check my pulse obsessively until I decided to stop doing it. It was a scary few moments but it really did help.
