I have found that after being on apri for a year I have an emotional break down 5-7 after my period consistently. I also gained 15 pounds other than that apri has been wonderful but I am looking to switch birth controls due to the weight gain and depression.

I've had terrible night sweats too. I've been on April & reclipsen for years, nearly half my life. All my doctors dont know what causes the night sweats. So, I think I'm going to tell my doctor today that I want to go off all birth control meds & see what happens.

I have been it on it now for almost a year and it does regulate your period and help with the cramps and decreases the flow. but for me it has made me very emotional and it has dropped my sex drive completely that is the negative thing.

I'm 26 years old and been on BCP for thr first time seeing that i am now dealing with adult acne. Gave Apri a shot and lasted about 2 weeks before stopping it. At first everything was fine but after 1 week i started getting side effects. They were tolerable but annoying. At first i noticed crazyyyy heartburn. Went to the pharmacist to get something behind the counter cause tums didn't cut it. I also experienced mild nausea at times, felt very calm and emotionless, I noticed that I was becoming very emotional which was annoying me because i'm never like that. Oh and i also experienced vaginal dryness, never in my life have i ever had this problem but i'm guessing that's what hormones do. The only good thing that i loved about this pill was that it cleared my face up in only 2 weeks. My face and back acne disppeared, i had porcelain beautiful skin, i couln't stop starring at it. However, for all the side effects that i experienced, I couldn't bare with it much longer, the minute i felt depressed i just stopped taking it because everyone around me noticed that i was acting different. I'm going to ask my doctor to switch to a lower dose, hopefully my body will tolerate it more than Apri...

Don't take it. My wife was on it for a couple of years, and it had severe effects on her personality. She went from being a kind energetic lady to a textbook abusive partner. When she stopped taking it she went back to being a normal human being.

You won't get pregnant on it, but chances are you'll turn into the kind of person that none would want to be around.

I was swiched to Apri after 3 months of the other brand I was taking. All of a sudden when I would go out during the summer I would start to dry heave and feel very sick. This happened all summer and now I'm constantly not able to eat as I am always feeling super sick. I had depression before and I feel like this pill has made me worse. My moods swings are very bad and I don't know if this has to do with the pill. My GYN will not switch me because they haven't heard anything bad about it, they don't listen so I am on my own. I have felt like this for over 9 months. I'm sick of feeling and I'm going to another primary doctor to see if something else is wrong. My parents think I'm pregnant because of the symptoms and even smells bug me now. Does anyone else feel like this?

Thank goodness I am not the only one...I have been on this for 2 months and wasn't sure what was happening to me. I have a family history of depression and am also a medical student who moved far from home for university....I wasn't sure what was causing my tiredness, moodiness, and sadness (along with some acne and bloat). The only real change was the added school stress and my pill. This helps me out lots!

At first when I started taking Apri I had no known side effects, but almost a year later and(just recently) when I take the Apri pill I almost immediately vomit afterwards. I'm not saying you will, but it's always something to look out for.

How long before you noticed your acne clearing up?

I haven't been on Apri for a month, I'm on week two and I feel depressed. I'm pretty sure my relationship is over and I've never cried so much

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced side effects such as loss of sex drive or pleasure while taking apri oral birth control? If so, is there anything else similar that won't diminish your sex drive?
