My aunt, who has Multiple Sclerosis, was just diagnosed with the scary bone thinning condition osteoporosis. I had never even considered this before, but I now here that there was any link between the two conditions. Do any of you know more? Are people with Multiple Sclerosis more likely to also develop osteoporosis?
Yes, Multiple Sclerosis patients are more likely to develop a variety of other conditions and osteoporosis is one of the diseases that has been shown to strike people with Multiple Sclerosis more often. The good news is that there is treatment for osteoporosis, and that with a little help, the condition does not need to be progressive.
