Are staph infections contagious? Are there treatments to cure it?
My son has a staph infection, it looks like a boil.....As far as I know in the past a boil wasn't serious but now it seems to be? Has it always been a type of staph infection or is it a totally different illness?

It could be a staph infection. all 4 of my sons had a similar version called impetigo(hope i spelled it right). i have been looking this up when it happened and staph infections can look like boils. the only way to treat him is to see a doc and get prescribed anti-biotics

My husband had a "boil" on his forehead which we originally thought was just a zit. It grew bigger and more red. He went to a walk in clinic and they told him it was Staph. The boil took about 2 weeks to come to a head, and then finally drain itself. He was left with a red mark on his forehead where it had been. Now, about a year later, it has returned.
