Hey. I'm a girl and I will turn 15 this summer. I am a bit overweight, but I always kind of was. I had this problem since a year and a half now and it's really embarrassing. In my school we have plastic chairs and whenever I sit down, after like 10 to 20 minutes I leave a sweat mark. :-| In winter I could easily hide it just by sitting on my coat, but the weather is warming and I'm starting to panic about losing my coat and my comfort. I can't concentrate on my lessons, because I can only only think about my problem. On one of my lessons I sit at the front, and the teacher often asks us to hand out things for the class, so before I stand up, I kind of turn while I'm sitting just to ... uhm... try to wipe it off. The sweating is stronger after I walked a longer time of period, but it doesn't come out on chairs made of wood... I am so embarrassed about it, and I don't have the courage to talk to my mum about it, so I definitely want NO doctors. :$ I don't want anyone to find out about this but I kind of want to treat it with something simple. Actually you guys just made my day, because now I know I'm not the only one with this. Thank you! ;-)

Millions of us hate plastic chairs, we have Hyperhidrosis. Maybe your doctor can refer you to a dermatologist, as what you may have is a skin disorder. Please try not to be embarrassed, it is not like it is your fault, it isn't. There are products that may help you, Klima Health Solutions caters to people with Hyperhidrosis. I make a device, coolwrapp, that is a detachable, washable crotch, geared to absorb sweat. Come to Very Sweaty Betty, all of us live with this skin condition.

There are correlations between what you’re eating, more importantly what you are NOT eating. If most of you are like me, it happens a lot in the morning. When you haven’t had anything to eat. That’s why when you drink coffee on an empty stomach, its only minutes away. Eat REAL food before you drink caffeinated drinks. If you regulated your body on a whole foods (real) then you will see a reduction. For me anyways, it occurs a lot when I deviate from eating correct or to my metabolic type. I would suggest you look into Metabolic Typing. Play around with putting something in your stomach on the regular times. I came across this and will put it to the test. http://www.ispub.com/journal/the-internet-journal-of-surgery/volume-8-number-1/pilonidal-sinus-and-prolonged-sexual-stimulation-the-poisonous-hormones.html

I hope this helps.

This happens to me.  I would definitely say it's because of anxiety. It hasn't happened to me in a while and I had some coffee today and started to notice it.
So step one.  Be more confident.
and step two.  Avoid coffee/caffeine

It is good to hear other peoples stories and to know you are not alone. I have had this issue since my late teens and I am in my 30s now. My sweating is also localised to my ass/groin. I do sweat easily when I am anxious, stressed or doing physical things but I can be in an air-conditioned room and still sweat at times when I am sitting down. I have found that a mesh bottom and back chair solves this problem as my ass is cooler and this has been the best solution I have found. There are other potential solutions below that may work for you but they are not as good as a mesh bottom chair for me.

I have had hyperhidrosis drugs prescribed by a doctor and they are call anticholinergic type drugs. There are side affects to these drugs including dry mouth, blurred vision, drowsyness, lethargy, trouble urintating, affected taste, etc. This is often the case and a doctor will aways make sure drugs are the last resort. The drugs do work in stopping you from sweating but the question is can you live with the side affects and remembering to take them everyday? I tend to only take the pills as a last resort because of the side affects being hard to live with.

You can have the sympathetic nerve cut if you are having sweating in other parts of your body but when it comes to the ass it is a bit too low as you can become impotent etc. Plus there is a very real issue of compensatory sweating where you start to sweat more in other parts of your body as a result of your body trying to cool itself.

Antiperspirant's can help in other areas but in the sensitive area of the ass/groin you can't really use them. But here are some ingredients to look for if you want to try: Zinc-oxide, Aluminium chloride, aluminium chlorohydrate, aluminium-zirconium compounds, aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly and aluminium zirconium trichlorohydrex gly.

You can get these products in powders, gels, creames, and sprays but for the ass/groin I think a powder may be best and Gold Bond Medicated powder may work. There are also different concentrations of the above ingredients and it is best to start of low and only increase concentration slowly over a period of time for your body to get used to.

I hope this will be of some help to someone who is suffering.

This happens to me less now.

Basically it got really bad when I smoked marijuana for 2 years. I am one of the few who becomes more self-conscious when smoking MJ (e.g. I eat less, instead of more) and even tho I only smoked in the evenings, it affected me all the time.

Since I came off the MJ, my butt sweat is much less. Yes, I still get it when I have sex or masturbate. But it used to be bad when I was "bubbling up" and getting ready for the toilet in the morning and letting my breakfast help "move things along".

Now I've noticed the sweat is much less when I pull my undies down in the toilet ready to do business. Far less than before, the size of a quarter. Whereas before it was a patch the size of a hand.

I'm 17 and this started when I was around 16.. It ruined my college life... I started wearing Darker Clothes, Doubling my Boxers, Making regular Bathroom Breaks, Keeping my back away from people, Being the last to stand up, Always hiding my chair... It was horrible.

One Day I was wearing brown Track-Suit bottoms and I must have sweated excessively... A Dark patch was on the back and everybody thought I had soiled myself... It really lowered my self-esteem, People always made jokes, Sniggered at it... It still hurts to this day thinking about it.

I have so many problems and this just adds to it... I know how each and everyone of you feels, It's horrible, Having to change how you dress, Act... Nothing worse than having to wear black whilst it's hot to keep yourself covered, The heat makes it even worse. My Self-Esteem gets worse each year, it always has done all of my problems have caused me to have little Self-esteem at all.

I'll still never be able to forget how I felt that day... The Jokes behind my back... How I didn't realize until to late... How My friends were pointing and giggling... It hurt.

Sometimes I really do wonder why I have this problem... Why I have so many.

All I can say is keep your chin up guys, Were not alone, New problems are solved everyday and whilst there isn't a cure there are things to help... I really did think I was alone until I saw this page, Now I know I am not.

I have had this problem for more than 30 years. Watch yr diet. Make sure u wear undies that are cotton and pants that r cotton too. That way enough air can dry the sweat. Avoid pants that don't breathe ie synthetic. I also wear shorts as often as I can again avoid synthetic clothing including undies. I always change and have a shower as often as possible minimum of two a day. Exercise is important but changes of clothes more because I sweat down below well after sport when arms and head have stopped. Stale sweat Leeds to chafing. When go number 2s wipe carefully an not too hard as this can set it off. Good luck guys! Also if very sporty some times a little vasaline to avoid chafing! A really good soap when showering. Make sure undies and shorts/longs washed in hot water washes.

hey all, looks like the spammers got this thread.   if you're still sweating, may i recommend wearing bicycling shorts underneath your clothes.  they have a pad which will keep the sweat from going thru your clothes.  you can also find some cool mountain bike shorts if you wanna try those.

also adding,  make sure and eat a 1/2 plate full of veggies, 1/4 fruit and 1/4 meat.   a change in diet may be in order, try to stay away from sugary foods.  i know it's hard, but you should stop sweating as much and should lose some weight in the meantime.  good luck!

I am so glad to see that many, many other people have this problem.  I am 43 and went back to school in January to finish a second degree. The excess ass/crotch sweat problem has been a periodic issue for years, but I've noticed a correlation with plastic chairs and anxiety.  Like the rest of you, I too will begin sweating within 15 minutes of being seated.  The classroom is always kept cool and I do not sweat in any regions other than my ass?  The more I worry about it, the worse it becomes.  There is no aroma involved.  I  noticed a wet trail in the seat when I stood up this morning in class and I was worried that I might have a sweat line going down my crack.  In addition, I have severe social anxiety that is exacerbated by this.  One more factor that I read someone else mention is the stomach noises.  I have a fear that my stomach will make an audible noise and this brings on anxiety which brings on the sweating. By the way, I am very skinny...so it's not a weight issue.  I have come to the conclusion that much of my problem centers around social anxiety.  I seem to be fine when I'm at home and not around anyone.  However, I also think that a cushioned chair helps the situation.  I always carry a Xanax with me if I feel a panic attack approaching and I had to take one this morning in class.  The only draw back is that I have to take a nap afterward, to give it time to wear off.

Otherwise, I guess we could have worse problems.  Oh, one more thing....I used to be a very heavy drinker (actually, full blown alcoholic) and the sweating was much more severe when I was drinking.  So, any of you who are heavy drinkers may wish to consider that.  I do smoke cigarettes though.

Curse this horrid nightmare.

It's so weird how my ass's temp is always so high yet the rest of my body is cool. This is what I cant understand, but I've come to the conclusion it's anxiety, it has to be as I DONT sweat in that area during exercise WTF!

For some reason when I'm anxious my ass gets hot and sweat, so frustrating. The only things I can suggest is never hold a BM as we all know that makes it sweat. Wear sports gear as underwear and use antiperspirants. And if you're despo, wrap some toilet paper and stick in place to act like a sponge.
