Hi all -
My SEVERE chest pain started exactly one week ago. I was woken up 3 nighs in a row with what I thought was a heart attack. Obviously I was in the ER 3 nights in a row also. The idea of gall bladder issues was not brought up until my mom said she had hers removed to the PA. Heart tests were done, x rays, cat scans, you name it. I am only 24, so they thought heart issues would be slim anyway. I had a GB ultrasound and that showed no stones, but when I had a HIDA scan the results showed that it was not emptying out the way it should . They told me I should have surgery, and I have some questions that maybe some of you can help me with??
1. How long after you were diagnosed did you get scheduled for surgery?
2. What did you eat while you were waiting for your GB to be removed? Macaroni, bread and water is getting old already for me. Ha
3. How did you feel after the surgery? I am not so much worried about weight gain, but about whether or not you were able to feel like your normal self?
thank you all, and good luck with your GI issues.... :-P

Hi Andrea, it's probably pretty scary for you being only 24 and already getting surgery but I wanted to post and let you know that I had a relative undergo this surgery and it goes pretty well. I think that she even left the hospital the same day. I think that the time elapsed between diagnosis and surgery was pretty short, like a month or less. And there was diarrhea after for awhile but it went okay otherwise. What do you think? Do you know when you're going in for surgery?
