Hi there ladies,
Of all the symptoms I imagined I might experience, having an excruciatingly painful tailbone(coccyx) was NOT one of them. I am 8 months post op, full hysterectomy at age 39 and I was looking forward to having a quality of life back again following the surgery. it is not the case, I have been to physical therapy, weekly chiropractor, xrays, stretches and finally found relief after seeing a pain specialist who performed a coccygeal plexus block. Relief at last and now I can continue with my day to day routine without pain or painkillers. I am trying to determine how this injury to the coccyyx occurs, is it the positioning during surgery? I am doing some research with my pain specialist so that we can inform our doctors and prevent this from happening to future hysterectomy patients. If you have suffered from this injury can you tell me if you had a abdominal, vaginal, laparoscopic or da vinci robot method of hysterectomy?

Ask my doc
Whom i love.he is a life savor. I trust him and it makes sense. He sais it is not the surgery. The surgery may have brought it on, but the arthritis was already there. If i walk every day and do exercises it helps a lot. In the mornings i have to roll out of bed.walking really helps.Got to keep the joints lubricated so that is my answer if it helps anyone
