In term of a more serious injury like ACL,I think you will only see the side effects after a long period of continual masturbation like 1 or 2 yrs. From me, I will lose all the muscle around the knee, the knee-after-surgery seem to not recover at all even after few years. I am trying to resist from masturbating for few weeks. It makes at least a difference that I can exercise without getting too pale. But may I ask whether you still can have sex with your partner during this time, obviously no masturbation but having sex around once per week?

My opinion is that masturbation causes weakness in the joints. Ive suspected this for quite some time now. And from what ive read online the people that have experienced it swear by it but there are many who havent experienced it who think its crazy.
At any rate, I will share with everyone where Im at.
I have masturbated for about 10 years now and am 25. Its never been something that ive been proud of and ive always felt that it was wrong. Ive had clicking/cracking/popping/grinding in my joints for a long time too.
Recently ive had a larger focus on my personal fitness and started resistance training. As it turns out my muscles are getting stronger but my joints are not quite up to the challenge. I already knew my knees would have problems so ive been really careful with them, but unsurprisingly my left elbow has pains and my wrist too(and no this is not because im jerking off in the wrong way. Dont be stupid. I jerk with my right). Now ive been trying to steadily increase my joint strength and have been holding off my "sexual" activity. I have ejaculated only once in the past 5 months.
I believe that masturbation not only affects you physically but also emotionally and mentally. Masturbation can be done out of habit. Sometimes you have no real reason to do it apart from you just being used to it. It can also be done because you are not getting real sex. People get turned on and without real sex they need release. Sometimes people do it when depressed. And heres the killer - masturbation makes you more depressed. So the more depressed you get the more you turn to an addiction or guilty pleasure(masturbation) and so you go into a downward spiral which is really difficult to climb out of. Since stopping masturbation I am way less depressed. I dont think ive had one day where ive been emotionally really down(like I used to) since ive stopped and ive been a lot more positive.
So a lot of people may be wondering how Ive gone this long. Will his be the only way? Of course not. In my 10 years of masturbating the longest I ever went previously with masturbation was 3 months out of willpower - ive always tried to resist it since I started.
This time round I tried a different approach as I felt the previous one was unsustainable by itself and I would be liable to relapse.
First thing to remember is never stop fighting because things can always get worse - a lot worse. Even if youre trying and it feels like youre taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back, if you let go you'll take ten steps back.
Second is always stay positive, happy and determined. Naturally a lot of people get depressed after they masturbate and because you failed at your goal again. This sad feeling will lead to more masturbation. Best thing you can do is brush it off and try again.
Third is do some exercise. I stopped regular resistance training around the same time I started masturbation and I forgot how good it mskes me feel. You may be different but I feel it helped me a lot! No more jogging cardio. Resistance training made me feel awesome. I also started eating a lot more as well and just felt healthier altogether.
Fourth is to discard any pornography you have. Many people have porn collections. Unless you are ready to let go of this you are clinging to it and will never be free from it.
Five is to bookmark this page on your phone and read it on almost a daily basis to remind yourself of the damage you are doing to yourself.
Six, I marked the days off on my calendar on my phone to reach 3 months. If I failed I would start the 3 months again.
Seven, take cold showers instead of hot ones. It helps on a mental and physical level.
Eight, this may seem a but controversial but I think it helped me a LOT. I have had trouble getting real sex with females for a while and am quite a shy person. That is why masturbation was hard for me to quit. So in order to prevent myself from relapsing I had to reward myself at the end of the 3 months to quench my sexual urges. But I cant masturbate because that would just reacquaint myself with my old habit and would be counter-productive. For me the only way I could guarentee myself real sex was if I paid for it because for me it is hard to obtain real sex with a woman and I have a low success rate. Also if I fail with women I would be liable to get depressed again. So the safest thing to do was to pay for it. Id never done it before but I dont regret it because its something that has indirectly helped me to be happier and healthier. It gave me something to look forward to at the end of 3 months. The choice was either to have fake sex now or real sex after 3 months. I know theres some shame in having to pay for sex (especially for younger men) but id spend a couple hundred to help me kick the habit. For some people real sex may not be a problem but it was for me so this was how I tackled the problem. Hope this has helped someone out there. Its easy for me not to masturbate now cos the habit is out of my system.

My advice is too get laid with someone you love. I'm 25 years old and from my experience I've had some of those symptoms like some slight pain in my right knee from over master sting. However I've noticed that when me and my girlfriend have sex it's actually more healthy because I love her and i have positive health affects after we bang. It's a lot more fun than masturbating and in so many positive empowering ways for your mental and physical well being. I'm not saying masturbation is bad but you can't do it for the rest of your life. Try to find a positive relationship with someone. I also want too say is when your feeling these kind of symptoms just take a break from jacking off and do something else with your time and most importantly don't think too much or beat yourself up mentally because believe it or not the way you think affects your health.
