Hello everyone,

I am really worried about my health. I'm 22..never had to take days off my education due to illness as i've rarely been ill over the years. Now since the end of last month - present - i've been ill every day. LITERALLY! I have made a list on a piece of paper of all my symptoms. I am really worried. It's so random for someone who doesn't normally get ill.

I don't know if it's to do with my Hypothyroidism (under active thyroids) - perhaps the doctor has given me the wrong dosage of my tablets (my mumma said that was the case with her friend's daughter and she only found out via a private doctor (after paying a lot of money to see him)(which we don't have!)that she had the wrong Levothyroxine dosage) OR if it's to do with my ever increasing weight gain (because I now have big ugly red stretch marks and yet never had a baby!). Perhaps these symptoms are nothing to do with either problem.

My friends think it could be stress but i'm not stressed. Yeah i've had a few problems this year that have stressed me out a bit but i've not felt stressed in a couple of months. These symptoms have come out of nowhere...they feel serious as there are so many and it's been so sudden!:

Here is a list of all my symptoms .and you should know that I have an uneasy stomach right now..(which is getting a bit better - been drinking sips of milk)

1.) Heavy feeling head.

2.)Temperature (hot forehead) with a cold body.

3.) Uneasy Stomach (this seems to occur during the evenings -every day!) (

4.) Gassy feeling in my stomach (not every day but a lot of the days)

5.) Sick feeling without puking so my mouth will sometimes gag but nothing wants to come out (I try to avoid being sick because I don't like it (I know noone likes it but it's always made me cry..I try to avoid it at all costs)

6.) Body feeling weak at times..

7.) (This is one typical me..all the time before all these symptoms) runny or blocked nose sometimes both at the same time.

8.) Arms feel weak sometimes.

9.) Tired feeling without feeling tired.

10.) Heavy eye lids (basically they feel like they want to close without my brain being tired (I guess that's the same as my last point)

11.) Big fat red stretch marks on my belly and one on the side of my teenie tiny bust..(all new - i've not been pregnant)

12.) Weight gain (this could be to do with my Hypothyroidism - i've always been chunky...I have the same diet all my life so it can't be due to my eating.. exercise has never helped. Spoke to my doctor and he didn't  believe me then just ignored that i've tried all the diets by telling me to try weight watchers..been there done that not helped!

13.) Scratch marks (new) on my back without me even coming in contact with anything that could scratch it! They don't sting or itch at all...but they feel slightly lumpy like they are new..

14.) 2 weeks ago I had a blocked/runny nose all in one plus no sense of taste that lasted a WHOLE week! I've never really had lack of taste before and the fact it lasted a week was worrying!

15.) Unable to concentrate and lack of motivation.

16) My memory has turned to mush. Well short term. Like I would know I need to do something then forget in a mili-second..This has never been the case for me before..i've always had great short and long term memory now it's rubbish.

17) Spilling food and drink on myself every time I eat and anything I touch falls to the floor then when I try to stop it - something else ALWAYS decides to fall..My mum said it's probably the hand-eye co-ordination. So that's getting worse..

18) Sometimes i'll start feeling claustrophobic and then my breathing becomes a bit faster and weird. I think that's a panic attack because I start feeling anxious suddenly - feel like i'm going to die.

19) Occasionally my heart feels like it's beating faster (like now) normally (before all this started) it felt normal..

20) I had a cramp in my jaw which was random and my bottom half of right leg another time. Usually with me it's just the feet so this was unexpected.

21) Emotionally more sensitive..(normally i'm hard as a brick) and soft in the inside...now i'm soft inside and out.

22) Never used to have headaches really..the past month I have had them occasionally and tends to be at the base of my skull..

23) My legs sometimes feel heavy..

24) Stress (lots of bad times lately for me in general and also the illness is making me stressed)

25) When sleeping, sometimes it feels like I can't physically move even though I have lots of space and at the same time feels like I can't breath (almost like i'm being held down) lasts a few seconds but scares me and has been happening a lot lately (no my house isn't haunted - not that I know of!)

26.) Soft stools/diarrhea

27) Shivering even when the heating has been on for hours!

28) There was one day end of November where I had woken up at 9am had 2 LARGE mugs of coffee and felt fine..then afternoon came and my stomach started to feel very gassy inside..then the evening came and it felt extremely painful and uneasy and I had palpitations panic attacks couldn't stop crying..went completely mad. I put it down to a caffeine overdose because i'd looked up my symptoms online however all those things have continued over the month now and i've not drunk any coffee since then.

29.) More claustrophobic than ever. When I lay down...because i'm very flabby even on my chest area it feels claustrophobic. My neck has flab too..so that causes panic attack sometimes. I worry because it gets a bit hard to breathe.

30.) Feel dizzy a lot of the time. When I get out of bed, dizzy, when I stand up from sitting down, dizzy, sometimes when i'm sitting, dizzy...

Those are my symptoms so far. A lot of them happen all at once. (yes all 30 at one go! - does happen with me!) .and these happen every night now. Have been since end of November. My doctor is closed during the weekend and he only allows a small amount of time to discuss only one problem. So I'm asking any of you who might have some idea what could be wrong with me to please comment this post.....very worried.

Thank you

I realize it has been a long time since you posted but you may still have the problems. Doctors are not always thorough in these things.
Sounds like your hypothyroidism could be compounded or indeed caused by a cortisol problem. That is that your adrenal glands are overproducing ? The stridae would be suggestive of it as would the moods, weight, dizziness, panic, thin skin, etc. Ask your endocrinologist if you might have a pituitary problem causing it and to get you checked out.

I have the same thing - the headaches, but I been trying to change my diet, I found I have food allergies and is chronic, sometimes it is bad and sometimes it goes away fast. stay away from foods with Nitrates as it makes it worse, don't eat too much bread, do not eat cheese at all, pumpkin pie, chips unless they are the plane ones. I had an attack yesterday after eating pum[kin pie, overeating, make it bad too, eat small meals through the day, also I found my urithric acids are high which causes GOUT so watch out, once I get GOUT all my stomach problems go away. I have learned to manage it, but it still gets bad when it hits, the only cure is Mylanta and moving around. It goes up into my brain and makes we feel weird. it is scary but i am still trying to manage it, by staying away from some foods. Its a sign of low hormones, i am on steroids with my doctor i take testosterone as well now that im in my 30's. now i take natural (WHEY PROTEIN) even bababbas Calmes it when i have an attack, usually lasts for a few hours and i feel weak after, but i eat pasta and protein shakes seem to calm it down.
