Please anybody out there help me. I am looking for step by step instructions on how to titrate down from my years of use of suboxone. I read that some people go off suboxone and then wait until they go in to withdrawal (about 2 weeks) and then take methadone for 4-6 weeks just until the suboxone is out of my system. Don't think my body will be addicted after 4-6 weeks of methadone use. Trust me, I am open to anything that has successfully worked for others. I am so angry that my doctors did not take me off of these a long time ago. Have fibroymyalgia with bad knees and degenerative disc disease. I am older than my time I feel. I have lost alot of my teeth and will be having dentures put on the top of my mouth....still can't believe it!!! I had beautiful teeth. I really think its from the suboxone. If my teeth are made of calcium and the suboxone decays them then wouldn't it do the same in my bones. I ache so bad everyday. Please help me. I am absolutely miserable!!! I want off that drug so badly....don't want to go to hell to get off of it....so 30 nights sleepless and achey and sick and sleepless...I hope somebody has a different way. I am desperate. Please, please, please somebody get back to me. My name is Kim and I look forward to hearing from everybody on what I can do to get off this evil drug!!! Thanks, in advance, for all your help!!! God bless!!!

Um 2 things. You an take methadone right now. It just wont be very effective for a few days until the blocker effect is gone when the bupe gets out of your system. And 4-6 weeks is MORE than enough time to become dependent on methadone. The hard way is switching from methadone to suboxone. You got it backwards. Thats when you gotta wait. Methadone is harder to kick than suboxone.

Drop your subuxone dose by 10-25% every 1-2 weeks until you get to .25mg. Then take the .25 every 2 days for 1-2 weeks. Then every 3 days, every 4 and then maybe drop it. It still aint easy, and you will feel like c**p but it is the only way out. There is no magic pill. And if you insist on the methadone dont take more than 10mg a day or take it for more than 7 days. There is no reason to get hooked on that. 4-6 weeks will get you a nasty methadone WD when you stop.
