Dr. Casey Dauw of the University of Michigan does an excellent job of HoLEP. He did a fellowship with Dr. Lingemann at Indiana University. He did my surgery and I am completely satisfied with the result.

Yes ---- Very satisfied with Dr N. Miller at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.. The entire experience and results were positive. Vanderbilt is not far from you and they make it easy for out of town patients.

I see that back in 2014 you were going to have a consultation with Dr. Dora - I am thinking of using him for the procedure and appreciate some feed back from you as to your experience with him and his team. Were you comfortable with him? Did you eventually have him perform the procedure? IF so, how did it go and how are you feeling now

I am considering going to Dr. Dora and would appreciate your feedback regarding your interaction with him and if you had him perform the procedure

Did you ever have HoLEP surgery? I also live in Dallas and only urologist I found is Dr Tayeb in Temple, TX. He did my surgery 12/04/20 with great success.

I had HoLEP five days ago from Dr Tayeb in Temple, TX. I was patient ~1007. If went great. Still recovering with tender urethra and bladder issues. I wonder how soon most men felt comfortable being intimate with their wife after surgery. My Dr said 2 weeks would be ok as long as no blood is present. I hope he is right.

Dr Michael Dusing of the Urology group performed a Holep procedure on me 1 week ago (12-3-2020). I am amazed at that this procedure has been so successful. Entered hospital St. Elizabeth in northern Kentucky at 9pm surgery at 11:00 and home by 5:30pm. A catheter was in for 24 hours then removed. Other than being a little uncomfortable and messy (blood in urine) off and on for 1 week so far, it tapered off each day. No pain to speak of for the week, took ibuprofin and an antibiotic 2 a day for 7 days. Sleeping thru the night most of the time occasionally waking to go the bathroom. Recommend loose clothes. pads to catch the dripping which will occur. Overall, if you need a surgery of this type (very large prostate) I highly recommend it, it is a life changer. Dr Dusing is excellent, over 900 procedures under his belt......!!! Good Luck

My HoLEP was one day after yours with Dr Tayeb in Temple, TX. I am amazed there is no pain afterwards. My issue was 177 gram prostate that caused urine retention. Had go to ER with 3 liters in bladder and kidney failure. Spent 4 nights in the hospital. Wore a catheter for two weeks till the surgery. Same as you one night in the hospital. So far things are good. Only issue is tender urethra and lots of leakage. I have to wear Depends. I have no urge telling me it is time to urinate because my bladder was so stretched out. I was backed up for 5 days, but Milk of Magnesia cleared it all out. Just got test results no cancer so that’s a relief, I am so happy I discovered HoLEP on my own and didn’t just let any urologist cut on me using a different method. Dr says I could be with my wife in 2 weeks if no blood is present. Seems optimistic since my urethra is still pretty tender. But I can’t wait -lol. I am 67 years old. BTw, found out the BPH caused some kidney damage the past 4 years from backup in bladder for so long. I thank God for Drs who have perfected HoLEP. They are rare,

I recently had HoLEP surgery in Missoula Mt. My surgeon is Dr. Simmons. I am ecstatic with the results! The day after surgery I was fully functional and urinating on my own. What a relief!

Great news. I am one month since surgery. I am 68, had 177 gram prostate and was 2 weeks in catheter before surgery because of urine retention. My surgery is a success. My only issue was a tender urethra for about three weeks and still have leakage, so need guards. I had sex with my wife 17 days after surgery. I am now used to a dry climax now. Last time the sensation was just as good as a regular climax even though nothing comes out. That is the only long term drawback, but at least I can urinate like a young man. I will be glad once I can stop wearing guards. I was wondering what happens to the prostate once all the insides are removed. Does it shrink? Collapse?

That is a good question I never got a straight answer from my doctor. I know that over time it will slowly grow back.

Good Morning, I am new to this but after reading of the good results I too am leaning towards the Helop vs the TURP that my local Urologist is suggesting. I live in west central Ohio and I found a Doctor that does this surgery in Dayton. Does anyone know of Dr. Blake Anderson.

I would 100% choose HoLEP over Turp. The latter is horrible butchery. Most urologists suggest other procedures because that’s the only ones they are trained in.

Also, Do the surgeons that perform this procedure use the same type of equipment or is there different 'older vs newer' equipment I should be aware of.
