Hi Everyone,
I am turning 40 next week. I have been busting my ass to qualify for the Boston marathon. My best time was 3:30 2007.(no vicodin) I need 3:20 this time. My question to any of you athletes who like to induldge is can i detox in two weeks from vicodin and still be fit enough to do the race.
I have been doing some great speedwork. But I relate alot of those times to the vicodin. 17 mile runs at 7:15 per mile were no big deal when you dont feel all of the pain. But my question is could that of helped my training? Dont get me wrong I cannot function anymore from the vikes. I have no choice. Im done with them now for good! I have been on them for a full year 8-10 a day. Lately, I have been using infrared saunas, niacin, and eating all whole foods. Can I make may 3rd? only runners answer please. Thanks,
Michael

Hi:
I was really interested in hearing how things have turned out for you. I am not an athlete, but I wanted to add some help here, if I can. You probably know this already...Any withdrawal process will involve some symptoms. This would mean that your body will be reacting and therefore functioning a bit differently to counter the effects off losing the drug. As a result, it would probably impact your performance. Your body will be under additional stress during the withdrawal period. I'm sure that you have answers by now. Please let me know. I hope that all has gone well for you.
