High, I am 17 years old and have been on this new birth control (shot) called Depro Vera (dk how to spell it).....At first i thought it was going to benefit me because i wouldnt have to worry about getting pregnant...BUT...im starting to think other wise...When me and my boyfriend first had sex (which was beforet the bc) it felt wonderful! now that im on bc it hurts to where i dont even want to have sex any more....im clean of std's (jus had a pap smear and blood work) so idk whats the problem. We dont have sex that often and this problem isnt increasing it....oh and i always bleed a little afterward. its not much but its noticable.
the pain isnt excruciating, but its sort of irritable at the entrance of my va-jay-jay (vagina) i think they call it the vuvlar ....PLEASE help if you can

Hello, I am also 17 years old :) And considered the depro vera, and found out all the information of it, up until i found out i was pregnant, now 7 weeks :) hehe, anyways, it can decrease your sexual drive, making it harder for you to become aroused, and your body wont create the lubricant, or in other words, you wont be ''wet'' and therefore this can cause pain, and the friction may cause a little blood. If you are very worried aswell this can cause pain during sex, as you will feel tense, try just relaxing and maybe use a condom again or some lube. If it continues to hurt, see your GP but it honestly shouldn't be something to worry about. Good luck
its not the fact that im not aroused i can get extremely "wet".....this couldnt have jus popped up out of the blue, but i havent read any of this in the Depo side effects!!! whats the point of getting the shot if i cant "do it"???
Is the outside of your vagina itchy, and irritable?? As this could be a sign of thrush, or if you find a burning sensation whilst peeing, then it could be a urinal tract infection, both can be treated very easily, and could cause irritation during sex. Try speaking with your GP again, and see what he says. Maybe the Depo isn't the right bc for you, and luckily it only last weeks
nothing is wrong until i have sex....even foreplay (fingering) gets irritable. And its only like the entrance of my va-jay-jay, not the outside but more of the "door"...its not burning, itching, stinging. i still feel pleasure but it kind of throws me off a bit
