I bit my lip two months ago , it bleed a little but also swollen at the bit area. This caused reoccuring bites on the lip and bleeding (the swollen area is more prone to bites since it is larger). After several weeks of getting it right and not bitting my lip, it healed but now I have a bulge/bump at the bit area. It feels like a gel- filled bump, pea sized and moves a bit when working with it. It also gets larger at the end of the day, probably from speech articulation and eating. I can press on it and it is barely noticeable for a little while. Fifteen years ago it used smokelees tobacco, my family urges me to see a Doctor about the bump as a result. Can I expect this to return to normal or is it a warning of other problems? Thanks for input.

I bite my lip a lot (i think my teeth are sharp because I don't eat meat, Haha) anyway, the same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I bit my lip and it healed but a couple weeks later I noticed a little bump in the same area. My dentist said it was because a small food particle must've gotten into the wound and when it sealed it was trapped in there. He said it would eventually work its way out. I didn't notice the actual particle come out ever, but sure enough, after a few weeks the bump disappeared.
